Springfield makes senior day one to remember

Springfield celebrated its senior day with a 4-2 victory over Sun Valley at MapleZone.

Alana DiRenzo, Eliza Donaldson, Gianna Delvecchio and Arden Turner tallied a goal apiece for the Cougars. Shainane Buck and Erica Worthington scored for the Vanguards.

In other nonleague games:

Phoenixville 3, Penncrest 2 >> Jane Yosua scored on a penalty stroke to tie things up and Kerry Peyton gave the Lions a 2-1 lead in the second half. The Phantoms, though, tallied two unanswered goals late in regulation to win the game.

Kennett 10, Interboro 1 >> For the Bucs, Maura Smith scored a first-half goal off an assist by Logan Stewart

Westtown School 3, Delco Christian 0 >> Rachel Yeung had eight saves for the Knights (3-7-2).

In the Catholic Academies League:

Sacred Heart 5, Villa Joseph Marie 0 >> Mary Lauren Franz registered two goals and an assist as the Lions picked up their first win in league competition. Goalkeeper Abby Braun had 11 saves, while Sophia DiCocco chipped in with a goal and an assist.
