Reporter Field Hockey Roundup: Plymouth Whitemarsh claims outright SOL American title

Ava Borowski scored all three of her goals in the first five minutes of the second half as the Plymouth Whitemarsh field hockey team clinched its sixth straight outright Suburban One League American Conference title with a 5-0 victory over Upper Dublin Tuesday.

Kaleigh Missimer collected a goal and an assist while Sam Spera also scored for the Colonials (15-1-0, 12-0-0 conference), which won its seventh in a row. PW goalkeeper Sarah Track made five saves for the shutout.

The loss was the second straight for Upper Dublin (7-7-1, 6-5-1).

North Penn 4, Central Bucks West 1 >> Jillian Lampitoc scored twice, Emily Crawford had a pair of assists and North Penn topped Central Bucks West for its second straight victory.

Casey Reichwein pulling the Bucks (3-12-1, 3-6-1 SOL Continental) within 2-1 at 15:37 in the second half but the Knights (6-9-0, 4-6-0) pulled away thanks to goals from Deborah Kim and Elene Kountroubis. 

Kristin Varilla added an assist while Mallory Stowell made four saves for North Penn, which has won three of four since after a five-game losing streak.

Wissahickon 1, Abington 0 >> Hannah Havrilla scored the only goal while Meghan Reilly and Alli Wood combined on the shutout as Wissahickon claimed an SOL American win.

Grace Ball assisted on Havrilla’s tally, which came at 9:41 in the first half. Reilly stopped four shots with Wood making three saves for the Trojans (9-5-0, 8-4-0 conference).

Ellie Hughes had six saves for Abington (8-7-0, 8-4-0), which lost its third straight.
