Tornetta reaches 100-goal mark as Agnes Irwin rolls

Julianna Tornetta kept Agnes Irwin’s 100-goal club a family affair, reaching the milestone with a four-goal, one-assist effort in the Owls’ 7-1 romp past Springside-Chestnut Hill in Friday’s Inter-Ac League field hockey match.
Tornetta’s career goal total climbed into triple digits with 11 minutes, 13 seconds remaining in the second half, when the junior cashed in a feed from Sydney Wolfington, who finished with two assists.
Sophia Tornetta, Julianna’s sister and recent Agnes Irwin graduate, is the only other player to score 100 goals in program history.
Jax van der Veen added a pair of goals and Rosie Kalis turned aside five shots to improve the Owls to 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the league).
In another Inter-Ac match:
Notre Dame 6, Penn Charter 0 >> Quinn Maguire led the way with two goals, Caroline Allen converted a penalty stroke and set up one score and Jessica Schneider celebrated her first varsity goal for the Irish (12-3, 7-2).
