The Reporter/Times Herald Boys Basketball Roundup (Dec. 17): Hinton’s 31 points leads Jenkintown past VFMA

Jenkintown 71, Valley Forge Military 53 >> Jake Hinton knocked down five 3-pointers in exploding for 31 points as Jenkintown pulled away in the fourth to earn a BAL road win Friday night.

Dan Ecker drained a triple of treys in scoring 20 points for the Drakes (2-2, 2-0 BAL Presidents), who outscored VFMA 18-7 in the final quarter after leading 53-46 at the end of the third.

Will Anozie scored 25 points to lead Valley Forge Military while Alvin Carpenter added 12 points.

Germantown Academy 66, Palumbo 37 >>  Blake Smith scored eight of his game-high 13 points in the first half as the host Patriots built a 33-13 lead at the break and rolled to a victory at the Jim Fenerty Make-A-Wish Tournament.

Luke Marvin, Flinn Brooks and Casey Traina all finished with nine points for GA (3-3), which snapped a three-game skid. Jaleel Drummond paced Palumbo with nine points.

Dock Mennonite 55, Bristol 44 >> Dock Mennonite’s Nathan Lapp scored 29 points while the Pioneers also got strong defensive performances from Tony Martin and Lane Bergey as they improved to 3-1 (2-0 BAL Independence).

Shaquille Grimes had 15 points for Bristol (3-1, 1-1 BAL Independence) while Elijah Alexander added 13 points.

Central Bucks East 62, Souderton 56 >>  Brett Young made six of Central Bucks East’s nine 3-pointers for a game-high 24 points and also grabbed six rebounds as the Patriots topped Souderton for an SOL Colonial win.

Jacob Cummiskey collected 12 points and five rebounds for East (4-0, 2-0 division).

Jay Bonnet led Souderton (3-2, 0-2) with 19 points. Aleks Smith had 14 points while Paul Vince finished with 11 points.

Upper Dublin 56, Quakertown 44 >> DJ Cerisier scored 11 of game-high 23 points in the second quarter as Cardinals picked up a road SOL Liberty victory.

Chris Kohlbrenner chipped in eight points for UD (3-1, 2-0 division). Sam Wilkin and Ethan Tomlinson both scored eight points to lead Quakertown (0-4, 0-2).
