DiCamillo carries Marple past Upper Darby

Nick DiCamillo delivered for Marple Newtown Wednesday, scoring 17 points to power the Tigers to a 60-55 win over Upper Darby in Central League boys basketball.

DiCamillo hit three 3-pointers, and Marple went 7-for-12 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter, just enough to seal its first league win and end a 15-game losing streak. It’s the first victory for interim coach Eric Houck.
Mike May added 15 points, and Mark Dever chipped in 10 for the Tigers (2-16, 1-12).

Most of Upper Darby’s damage came from behind the arc, with Kahleel Henry (15 points) and Jawan May-Craddle (14 points) combining for nine made 3-pointers. Raquon West added 14 pts for UD.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

Garnet Valley 71, Harriton 59 >> Brandon Starr posted a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds to help the Jags take care of business away from home.

Andrew Louden hit four triples to lead all scorers with 21 points. Austin Laughlin supplied 14 points, and Carl Tienabeso added 11 for GV (11-6, 7-6).

Penncrest 57, Conestoga 53 >> Tyler Norwood dished seven assists to go with his 19 points, and Justin Ross scored 14 to lead the Lions. Five of Shaun Norwood’s eight points came in the fourth quarter for Penncrest (10-9, 7-6).

In the Inter-Ac League:

Episcopal Academy 47, Penn Charter 39 >> Nick Alikakos was quieter than usual with 14 points and 10 rebounds, but Conner Delaney’s 10 points led a balanced effort as the Churchmen (13-5, 4-1) passed a road test to keep pace atop the league.

Germantown Academy 59, Haverford School 41 >> Gavin Burke canned three triples for 12 points, and Kharon Randolph added 11, but the Fords were staggered by a 24-12 margin in the third quarter.

In the Catholic League:

Archbishop Wood 66, Bonner & Prendergast 51 >> John Hargraves accumulated a stellar game with 23 points, seven rebounds and five blocks, but none of his fellow Friars hit double-figures.

West Catholic 59, Cardinal O’Hara 52 >> Zakee Griffin scored 18 points, including 13 after halftime, and Jaye’Lyn Peebles added 15, but the Burrs pulled away in a game tied after three quarters.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Unionville 56, Sun Valley 51 >> Kyle Ryan drained six three-pointers in a 21-point outburst, and Ishy Ahmad added 15 points for the Vanguards.
