Bamba, Walker, Green selected to McDonald’s All-American game

Three of southeast Pennsylvania’s best have been selected to the 2017 McDonald’s All-American boys team, announced Sunday.

Westtown School’s Mohamed Bamba, Reading’s Lonnie Walker and Neumann-Goretti’s Quade Green were selected to the East squad, three of just 24 players nationwide to be chosen for the prestigious all-star game that will take place at the United Center in Chicago on March 29.

For the second year in a row, McDonald’s All American Hometown Heroes presented by American Family Insurance will traverse the country recognizing the 24 boys selected to play in the 40th annual McDonald’s All American Boys Game. New for this year, the 24 girls selected to play in the 16th Annual McDonald’s All American Girls Game will also be recognized. A special press conference event including a McDonald’s All American Games jersey presentation, award ceremony and media interviews will take place in their hometown.

Bamba, a 6-11 center who is presently undecided, will be recognized Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 3:45 p.m. at Westtown School.

Walker, a 6-4 shooting guard who is committed to Miami, will be presented with his All-American jersey on Friday night at Reading’s Geigle Complex at 5:30 p.m.
