Delco Roundup: High fives for Reinholt in Radnor lacrosse victory

Radnor’s Ameilia Reinholt scored five goals and registered five assists Thursday en route to a 19-6 victory over Lower Merion.

Kate Gallagher potted three goals for the Raptors. Olivia Kelley (four draw controls), Angela Esgro, Taylor Murphy and Kate Mameninskis all tallied two goals. Julie Breedveld chipped in with a goal and nine draw controls.

In other Central League girls lacrosse action:

Springfield 15, Harriton 4 >> The Cougars improved to 11-3 thanks in large part to Mia Valerio, who went for five goals, two assists and six draw controls. Anabel Kreydt and Liv Gutowski flourished defensively for the Cougars.

Erin DeStefano (one assist), Jaclyn Guille, Maddie Kane (two assists) and Gabby Rizzio all netted two goals in the winning effort. Madison McBride had four saves in the cage.

Garnet Valley 17, Strath Haven 2 >> Ava Kane paced the Jaguars to a lopsided win, going for three goals, four draw controls and two ground balls. Kate Stankavage pitched in with a hat trick and five draw controls. Lexi Garrity scored three times and goalie Mak Butler recorded eight saves.

Haverford 11, Ridley 7 >> Emma Rowland scored five goals, Hillery Elsner added three and Rory Turner made 13 saves to lead the Fords to a win.

Emily Liberio led Ridley with four goals. Krista Geibler added a pair of markers. Grace DeCarolis added 14 saves.

In the Catholic League:

Archbishop Carroll 18, Lansdale Catholic 2 >> Chloe Bleckley, Sienna Golden, Michaela Henry, Cate McConaghy and Ava Bleckley powered a balanced Carroll attack with two goals apiece.

In the Del Val League:

Interboro 14, Chichester 10 >> Kylie Mea scored six goals, and Jules Wiseley added a hat trick as the Bucks prevailed.

Boys Lacrosse

Ty Gougler provided four goals and two assists in Springfield’s 11-1 shellacking of Harriton.

Matt Shandley recorded a hat trick and Colin Hannigan was 11 of 12 on faceoffs. Jimmy Kennedy and Matt Dickinson both added a goal and assist.

Marple Newtown 11, Penncrest 10 >> Charlie Box tallied five goals and two assists, and Brian Box chipped in a hat trick as the Tigers edged out a win.

They needed all of that to repel seven goals from Jason Poole. Dylan McDougall added three goals and two assists from Penncrest.

Garnet Valley 18, Strath Haven 6 >> Joey Halloran scored five times, and Max Busenkell added three goals and five assists as the Jaguars romped. Sean Gallagher scored four times, and Sam DiTrolio went 17-for-20 on draws.

Austin Conner scored five goals for Strath Haven.


Julian Bulovas roped two doubles and knocked in four runs as Inteboro throttled Penn Wood, 24-4.

Kaden Walsh was 3-for-3 with an RBI double. Vinnie Milbert and Josh Boylan each had three hits for the Bucs. Jake Finley was the winning pitcher.

Academy Park 11, Chester 7 >> Owen Schimpf struck out nine in 4.2 innings, allowing four unearned runs on one hit, as the Knights won. Jimmy Anderson tripled, Jeremy Murphy drove in two, as did Elvin Rodriguez.

In nonleague action:

Bonner-Prendergast 12, Gloucester Catholic 2 >> Joe DeMucci went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored as the Friars posted a first-inning nine-spot at Trenton Thunder Ballpark.

Michael Anderson doubled among two hits and drove in two runs and scored twice. Kevin McGonigle added two hits and two runs scored, Kevin Henrich doubled and drove in two and Austin Cannon added two hits.

In the Central League:

Harriton 7, Strath Haven 3 >> Nick Corritore collected two hits and Alex Pack was 1-for-2 with a pair of runs. Matt Kane had a hit and two RBIs. The Rams took advantage of poor defense by the Panthers and scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning.


Interboro’s Jules Bergen stepped in for an injured teammate and helped lead the Bucs to 14-3 victory over Del Val League foe Chichester.

Bergen pitched six solid innings in relief of starter Sarah Smith, who left due to injury, and had a huge day at the plate finishing 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Also for Interboro, Mare Nagle tallied three hits and three RBIs and provided strong defense at shortstop. Dani Linker extended her home run streak to three games and finished with three RBIs. Jill Gray added a triple for the Bucs (8-2, 6-0).

In the Central League:

Upper Darby 8, Radnor 7 >> Mia Kerwood supplied the game-winning single in the bottom of the sixth as the Royals prevailed in a wild one.

Sara Gentile cleared the bases with a double. Nora Zakrewski went 3-for-3 with a homer and a double.

Kelsie Moore had two hits, a double and two RBIs for Radnor.

Strath Haven 5, Harriton 2 >> Megan Noon went the distance, scattering four hits, walking none and striking out five. Laura Shea and Cate Kozub each tripled and scored. Noon scored two runs. Shea and Maya Grande drove in runs.

Boys Tennis

Vishal Brahma, Shiven Patel and Sahil Saleem all won in straight sets as Garnet Valley cruised to a 7-0 decision over Haverford.

Rithik Brahma and Srihari Raman were 6-1, 6-3 winners at first doubles for the Jags.

Radnor 7, Ridley 0 >> Hyeonjin Kim and Manato Matsuoka dominated with 6-0, 6-0 wins at first and third singles, respectively. According to the game report, three of Radnor’s four doubles wins came shorthanded. Ryan Movsowitz (first) was a 6-0, 6-0 winner. P.J. Duffy was victorious at third and Noah Choi at fourth, both in straight sets.

Girls Golf

Lilly Press carded a 49, but Agnes Irwin fell in windy conditions against neighborhood rival Notre Dame in a 256-266 setback. Kathryn Chang carded a 52
