Interboro’s Lincoln fans 8 in one-hitter

A bunt single prevented Interboro from pitching a combined no-hitter Monday in a 12-2 rout of Glen Mills.

Jason Lincoln hurled five spotless innings with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Billy Ketler and Jeff Finley each hit a double for the Bucs (4-0, 4-0), who scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to trigger the 10-run rule. Ketler’s two-bagger knocked in a pair.

Matt Long had a nice day at the plate with two hits and two RBIs. Anthony Pagan logged his first varsity hit and scored three runs.

In another Del Val League game:

Chichester 11, Penn Wood 0 >> Aaron Smith allowed one hit and fanned seven over four shutout innings as the Eagles downed the Patriots in five. Will Mitchell’s double in the first inning cleared the bases and sparked an eight-run rally. Jason Riberio had two hits and two RBIs, and Bobby Jones finished with a pair of ribbies.

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 17, Morrisville 3 >> DC’s Cody Moorehatch put in a full day’s work.

In three official at bats, Moorhatch tripled, scored four runs,  stole seven bases (including home … twice) and walked twice.  He also reached base on an error.

Kyle Winters and Tyler Rossini each rapped two doubles for the Knights (4-1, 3-1).  A Morrisville outfielder tumbled over the fence to make a catch and rob Winters of a home run.

In the Central League:

Strath Haven 4, Marple Newtown 3 >> Will Carey blasted a two-run dinger and pitched a perfect sixth inning as the Panthers edged the host Tigers. Dave Moore (doubled) added two hits and recorded the win in relief.

Ricky Collings, who took the loss on the mound, contributed two hits and an RBI. Alden Mathes stayed hot with three hits for the Tigers.

Ridley 3, Haverford 1 >> Ryan Downs scattered six hits and allowed no earned runs with four strikeouts to get the win. Nick Cerelli had a double for the Fords, who received a solid pitching outing by starter Jake McClelland, who gave up two earned runs on six hits with two Ks.

In the Catholic League:

St. Joseph’s Prep 5, Bonner & Prendergast 1 >> The Friars (5-1, 2-1) mustered only four hits on the way to suffering their first loss of 2016.

Evan Raiburn doubled and Bonner scored its lone run via a passed ball in the bottom of the sixth.

La Salle 10, Archbishop Carroll 2 >> Nick Argentieri pounded out two hits and Trip Shoemaker smacked a double for the visiting Patriots (2-4, 1-2).

In the Ches-Mont League:

Great Valley 3, Sun Valley 1 >> Sun Valley starter Christian Bateman pitched 5 1/3 innings with three hits and no earned runs allowed while striking out five.  Vinnie Carter tied the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the third before the Patriots went ahead with two unearned runs in the sixth.

In nonleague action:

Friends Select 4, Academy Park 1 >> Stephen Huff was filthy on the mound for the Knights (4-3). He punched out 10 hitters over four innings, while allowing two runs (one earned).

Mike Brodzinski had an RBI double in the sixth inning.
