The senior wrestler and team captain finished sixth at the PIAA 3A state wrestling championships at 114 pounds, winning a state medal. For the 2024-25 season, he compiled a 39-11 record, including a 12-0 record in decisions by pins, and an 8-2 mark in major decisions. He finishes his Radnor wrestling career with a 97-41 record, including 41 falls.
Q: What is your favorite memory of the PIAA state tournament?
A: My favorite memory of the tournament was in the blood round against Connor Lagier of West Scranton (an 8-6 win), when I got that last takedown with 30 seconds left on the board and celebrating with my coaches
Q: What do you think was your best match of the season, and what was the biggest key to your success that day?
A: The best match of my career was my Regional semifinal against Clayton Waltenbaugh of Souderton (1 17-7 major decision). He beat me in the district finals, so I just knew I had to bring it to him the next match.
Q: What do you consider your biggest strength on the mat and what you are working on most currently?
A: I think the biggest strength on the mat for me is mat awareness. What I need to work on for the future is not giving up when I’m only down five or six points in a match.
Q: How did you try to exercise your leadership role on the team as a captain, on and off the mat?
A: By supporting my team and showing them they can do anything as long as you put in that hard work.
Q: Who have been your most influential wrestling mentors, and what was the most important thing you learned from each of them?
A: Coming into my freshman year at Radnor, my friend Akahi (Heywood) brought me into the room and introduced me to my new (Radnor wrestling) family — he was the best partner I ever had. He pushed me to get better every day, and brought me on a path to success that I didn’t think I would ever get to see. Then my coaches — Coach Skull (head coach Justin Schellenger), (Tyler) Fink, and Rob – these guys just believed in me right from when I walked in the room, they helped me with so much throughout my high school years. One thing I learned from these guys is to never give up.
Q: What is your favorite academic course at Radnor? What do you think you would like to major in at college? Is there a particular career field that interests you at the present time?
A: My favorite subject in Radnor is business, I want to study business in college. I would like to own a barber shop when I get out of school.
