Player of the Year
When Chaz Wilson took over the head coaching duties from Dominic Popolizio for the 2022 season, the West Chester Henderson boys’ soccer program didn’t miss a beat. The Warriors were the defending Ches-Mont champs at the time, and under Wilson the program has added three more league crowns.
The 2024 campaign was one of the best in program history that dates back seven decades. Henderson hasn’t dropped a Ches-Mont regular season match dating back to the 2022 season, and this fall the Warriors completed an unbeaten regular season, and then went on to capture the program’s eighth all-time district crown, the first since 2016.
Henderson notched 18 shutouts and allowed just six goals in 24 outings in ’24, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the PIAA Tournament. A stunning loss to Great Valley ended a 23-1 season, and marked the one and only time the Warriors trailed at any point of any game during the season.
