Attack

WYATT KUPSEY, Unionville >> With 64 goals and 33 assists, Kupsey led the Ches-Mont with 97 points. The sophomore was voted the league’s top attackman, and he had to adapt to many defensive schemes thrown his way. “Wyatt has drawn the best pole in every game played, and shown the ability to create offense for others,” said his coach Ian Allender.

NICK D’ALESSANDRO, Devon Prep >> A three-time All-Catholic-League selection, the West Chester resident rolled up 42 goals and an area-best 48 assist in ’24. The senior amassed 234 points to become the Tide’s career leader. “Nick provided a tenacious ride to help turn turnovers into goals for our offense,” said his coach Mark Consolo. “He had four games this season with five-plus assists.” Has committed to play college lacrosse at Hamden Sydney.

MIKE ORTLIEB, Malvern Prep >> A junior, Ortlieb led the Friars in scoring with 70 points (40 goals, 30 assists). A proven offensive threat who scored five goals against Haverford School in the National Prep Championship, and was named All-State. “Mike is a pure quarterback attackman who consistently provided production in 2024,” his coach Matt Mackrides said. Has signed to play collegiately at Duke.

TANER MARUSA, Downingtown East >> The senior lost his junior year to an injury but came back to lead the Cougars with 75 goals as a senior. “Taner was our top scorer and shooting threat,” said his coach Joe Horvath. He added 12 assists and helped East win its third straight undisputed Ches Mont championship. Has committed to play college lacrosse at Dickenson.

BO FREEBERY, Kennett >> One of the best distributors in all of the district, Freebery led the Ches-Mont with 39 assists. The senior captain also notched 49 goals, and was the runner-up for league MVP. “Bo was the natural leader of the team – a special player — and even better person off the field,” said his coach Bob Allvord. He has signed to play Division I lacrosse at Holy Cross.

ENNIS UDO, Malvern Prep >> A resident of West Chester, Udo excelled on the field (All State) and the classroom (Academic All American). The 6-foot, 200-pounder registered 38 goals and assisted on another 30. “Ennis is an imposing force and a constant threat against opposing defenses,” said his coach Matt Mackrides. A dominant left-hander, Udo will play college lacrosse at Brown.

Midfield

EAMMON DONOVAN, Devon Prep >> The senior led the Tide to the District 12 title. The Berwyn native is a two-time Catholic-League Player of the Year recipient. He finished with 80 goals and added 17 assists. With 232 career points, he is No. 2 on Devon’s all-time list. “Eammon is at the top for most career goals in program history at 172,” said his coach Mark Consolo. “He had two games with over 7 goals and scored the game tying goal to push the game to overtime in the District 12 AA championship vs Lansdale Catholic with 18 seconds left in regulation.”

NATE PECHIN, West Chester Rustin >> The premier midfielder in the Ches-Mont, Pechin was an offensive threat and a strong on-ball defender. A junior, he scored 38 goals and added 12 assists. “Nate was the party starter for us on offense because he draws a ton of defensive and scouting attention every game,” said his coach Kevin Philibin. “And bought into his role.” Has committed to play for the Naval Academy.

PERI DiBARTOLOMEO, Malvern Prep >> The Friars went 20-3 in 2024 against a brutal schedule, and DiBartolomeo was a groundball vacuum all season. The senior All-Stater finished with 40 ground balls and has signed to play lacrosse at Penn State. “Peri is one of the best short-stick defensive midfielders in the country,” said his coach Matt Mackrides. “He is like having a fifth long pole on defense.”

LOGAN TURLEY, Malvern Prep >> Already committed to play college lacrosse at Harvard, Turley is a quintessential offensive-minded midfielder. A resident of Malvern, the junior scored 28 goals, added 10 assists and was named All State. “Logan is an extremely physical dodger with one of the harder shots in high school lacrosse,” said Malvern Prep coach Matt Mackrides. “He was a tough stop for any defender he went against.”

BRAYDON GOLDSTEIN, Avon Grove >> A senior captain and first-team All-Ches-Mont pick, Goldstein poured in 37 goals and added 12 assists in 2024 for the Red Devils. He was Avon Grove’s MVP and received extra attention frequently by opposing defenses. “Braydon is one of the hardest working people in the program and for sure one of the best players in the Ches-Mont regardless of position,” said his coach Bert Amanto. “He is a great Leader on and off the field.”

Long Stick Midfielder

BRYCE KERRIGAN, Coatesville >> A first-team All-Ches-Mont pick, Kerrigan contributed 11 goals, 140 ground balls and 50 turnovers caused. A three-year starter, he was a captain and defensive MVP for the Raiders. “I can’t think of an event where he hasn’t helped build the program,” said his coach Bruce Shallis. “I have had the pleasure to coach him his whole career.” Kerrigan has signed to play collegiately at Chatham University.

Defense

EVAN MacFADDEN, West Chester Henderson >> A two-time All-Ches-Mont pick, MacFadden was also an Academic All-American in 2024. A two-time team captain, the senior caused 38 turnovers, scooped up 32 ground balls and scored two goals. “Evan was the leader of our defense and team,” said his coach Sean Evans. “He has marked each opponents top offensive player and limited their goals and assists. He caused many turnovers with his size and presence on the field.”

GAVIN SEAMAN, West Chester Rustin >> Picked by league coaches as the Ches-Mont MVP, Seaman was a true disruptive force for the Knights. He caused 66 turnovers, added 85 ground balls, while adding seven goals and four assists. “Gavin is the best takeaway defenseman I’ve coached, and one of the best I’ve seen,” said his coach Kevin Philibin. An All-State pick, he is headed to Monmouth to play college lacrosse.

KYLE WORSNUP, Malvern Prep >> The Friars allowed an average of six goals per outing, and the anchor of the defense was Worsnup, a senior All-Stater. The West Chester native has accepted a full athletic scholarship to Rutgers. Worsnup and the Malvern Prep defense – playing one of the toughest schedules in the country – only surrendered 10 goals twice. “Kyle is a tenacious defender and a captain of our defensive unit,” said his coach Matt Mackrides.

OWEN LAMMY, Downingtown East >> The Cougars’ defensive player of the year anchored a defense that surrendered an average of less than four goals per game in league play. Lammy had a goal, four assists, 44 ground balls, 37 forced turnovers and 32 individual clears in ’24. “He was our best on-ball and team close defender who is typically assigned to the opposition’s most athletic offensive player,” said East coach Joe Horvath. Has signed to play at Rollins College.

Faceoff

COLIN KELLY, Kennett >> A consistent performer, Kelly prevailed on 225 of 370 faceoffs for a winning percentage of more than 60 percent. He also gobbled up 170 ground balls and compiled 23 goals and six assists and is a two-time all-league selection. “In addition to being the faceoff middie of our squad, Colin was an integral part of our offense,” said Blue Demon’s head coach Bob Allvord. “He is a solid player that did a lot for us this season.”

Goaltender

MIKEY JOHNSON, Conestoga >> The Pioneers went 13-7 in ’24, and the clear standout was Johnson. The junior limited eight opponents to three goals or less, and finished with 131 saves. Johnson was named the team MVP and was a first-team All-Central League selection. “Mikey is right in line with the excellent goalies that Conestoga has produced over the years,” said his coach Brody Bush. “His outlets and his abilities to save the ball is as good as it comes.” Has committed to play college lacrosse at Hobart.

The Devon Prep lacrosse squad advanced further in the PIAA Playoffs in 2024 than any team in program history. And head coach Mark Consolo – in his eighth season at the helm – was the guiding force.

“Coach Consolo did an amazing job with our team this season,” said Devon senior midfielder Nick D’Alessandro.

The Tide went 18-5 during the season despite undergoing a very challenging Philadelphia Catholic League slate. Devon Prep finally found a way to defeat Lansdale Catholic during the regular season, went on to win the District 2A championship and qualified for states for the fourth straight yea. The Tide then advanced to the PIAA Semifinals before falling to powerhouse Mars. Devon’s win over Twin Valley in the state quarterfinal marked the deepest Devon Prep run in the state tournament.
