Softball

North Penn 11, Central Bucks South 2 >> Casey Sokol’s grand slam in the top of the fourth inning gave North Penn a 7-0 lead, the senior also doubling in the sixth as she finished 3-for-3 with a walk, four RBIs and a run scored Thursday as the Knights clinched their fourth straight outright SOL Colonial Division title.

Tallie Smink was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Gianna Cimino had three RBIs  for North Penn (17-2, 13-2), which won its ninth in a row.

Bella Nunn struck out 14 in earning a complete-game victory.

Central Bucks South (10-9, 8-7) scored both of its runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 10, Upper Dublin 0 (6) >> Kalina Childers’ two-run home run in the bottom of the third put Plymouth Whitemarsh up 3-0 while Anna Powel went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored as the Colonials cruised to an SOL Liberty win.

Joslyn Perez was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored for PW (16-3, 14-1 division). Sam Skivo finished 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored, Marissa Perez was 1-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and scored twice while Marissa Caroluzzi had a double and two RBIs.

Kaitlyn Zacharia, Kyla Garrison, Madden Reilly, Madison Small each had a hit for Upper Dublin (9-10, 6-9)

Quakertown 11, Hatboro-Horsham 0 (6) >> Leah Schwalm hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth as she went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored in Quakertown’s SOL Liberty win.

Madison Mallery doubled twice in going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored for the Panthers (18-1, 14-1 division), who took a 7-0 lead with a six-run fourth. Ava Beal and Ellie Hilton both had two RBIs. Abbey Wagner struck out nine in pitching an eight-hit shutout.

Sydney Cassel went 2-for-3 with a double for Hatboro-Horsham (11-6, 10-5) while Maya Ravi was 2-for-3.

Central Bucks West 8, Pennridge 0 >> Sienna Lawson threw a three-hit shutout with no walks and 14 strikeouts, Laila Murray was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored and Central Bucks West earned its second straight win.

Ava Mattes went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Bucks (11-5, 11-4 SOL Colonial), who scored three runs in the top of the second, three in the sixth and two in the seventh. Ana Glemser had a triple and two RBIs while Emily Gerstein collected two RBIs.

Jadyn Gulbinski was 2-for-3 with a double for Pennridge (5-11, 3-10 SOL Colonial)

Wissahickon 10, Abington 4 >> Wissahickon took a 6-0 lead in the top of the first, Abington work it way back to within 6-5 after scoring twice in the fifth but the Trojans got a run in the sixth and three in the seventh to claim an SOL Liberty win.

Sammi Clewell was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Ghosts (5-11, 3-11 division). Sam Wenhold had four RBIs while Mia Lucke went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Wissahickon (6-13, 4-11) snapped a three-game skid.

Dock Mennonite 18, Plumstead Christian 0 (3) >> Lydia Ehst hit a three-run home run in the top of first in going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored, Erin Miles finished 4-for-4 with double, an RBI and three runs scored and Dock Mennonite rolled to a three-inning victory.

Riley Gahman connected on a two-run homer in the second while Addison Landis was 2-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored for the Pioneers, who plated their last 10 runs in the third.

Aubrey Gahman went 2-for-2 with two doubles, an RBI and scored twice with Adelyn Clemmer going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Villa Maria 8, Gwynedd Mercy 0 >> Jenna Morrison and Madelyn Lorenzo each had a hit for Gwynedd Mercy as the Monarchs were shut out in the AACA contest.

Baseball

North Penn 8, Central Bucks South 4 >> Back-to-back home runs by Chase Jones and Ben Farley in the bottom of the fifth inning turned North Penn’s 4-1 deficit into a 5-4 lead, the Knights adding three more runs in the sixth to pull away Tuesday and earn their sixth consecutive victory.

With the win and Central Bucks East’s loss at Souderton, North Penn can claim a share of the SOL Colonial Division title with a victory at CB East Tuesday. East has already secured a share and can take the division crown outright with a win.

Jones pulled the Knights (12-5, 10-5) even 4-4 with his three-run blast while Farey gave the home side the lead for good by following with a solo shot.

With two outs in the sixth Ben Grattan’s two-RBI double made it 7-4 with Grattan scoring on a Jeremiah Criger RBI single the next at-bat.

North Penn starting pitcher Nick Palovich picked up the win going six innings, allowing four runs – all unearned – on eight hits with no walks, one hit batter and nine strikeouts.

Jake Yang was 3-for-4 with a double for Central Bucks South while Ryan Frey finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.

The Titans led 4-0 after three runs in the first then another in the second. Aaron Briggs’ made it 4-1 in the bottom of the second with his solo home run.

Souderton 4, Central Bucks East 3 >> Jeremy Fallon’s RBI groundout in the bottom of the fifth pulled Souderton even while in the seventh a Connor Klock single and an error brought in Zach Pollock from second base to give the Indians a walk-off SOL Colonial win.

Klock finished 2-for-4 with an RBI for Souderton (8-9, 7-7 division).

Central Bucks East’s Jack Mislan was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

The Indians led 2-1 after the first. East (12-6, 11-4) knotted things in the fourth on a Sean Hill RBI double then went up 3-2 in the fifth on Chase Fulford’s RBI sacrifice fly.

Pennridge 3, Central Bucks West 1 >> Pennridge rallied for a SOL Colonial win by scoring all of its runs in the top of the seventh – Joe Gregoire putting the Rams ahead with a bases-loaded, two-RBI single while Tommy Ginnetti added some insurance with a bases-loaded walk four batters later.

Connor Murray was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for Pennridge (10-7, 6-7 division) while Connor Smith threw a complete game, allowing an earned run on six hits, walked one and struck out two.

Sam Greer went 2-for-2 with a walk for Central Bucks West (8-9, 6-8), which took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on Quinn Illig’s RB sacrifice fly.

Quakertown 3, Hatboro-Horsham 0 >> Matt Marsten broke a scoreless tie with his RBI double in the sixth and also pitched a two-hit shutout as Quakertown moved into a tie for first in the SOL Liberty Division.

The Panthers’ win and Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 6-1 loss to Upper Dublin has both teams at 13-2 in division play with one game remaining. Tuesday, Quakertown hosts Abington while PW is home against Wissahickon.

Marsten struck out seven while allowing three walks. Gunner Rahn went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Panthers (14-5).

In the seventh, Quakertown added two runs on an error on a Cole Reich grounder and Rahn’s two-out, bases-loaded RBI single.

Jaxson Bumpus and Seamus Hellings each had a hit for Hatboro-Horsham (8-9, 7-8), which lost its third straight.

Wissahickon 6, Abington 2 >> Josh Palutis hit a pair of triples in finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored to help Wissahickon pick up an SOL Liberty win.

Josh Stonesifer was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the Trojans (13-5, 10-5 division), who led 2-0 after a run in both the top of the first and second.

Abington’s Mason Kishpaugh hit an RB double in the third to make it 2-1 but Wiss plated two in the fourth on a Palutis RBI triple and Justin Miller’s RBI sacrifice fly. Mark Selverian’s RBI fielder’s choice in the fifth put the Trojans lead at 5-1.

Brian Murtha went 2-for-2 for the Ghosts (5-10, 5-9).

Wissahickon starting pitcher Adam Hajdak earned the win, giving up two runs – both earned – on six hits. He walked two and struck out seven.

Boys Lacrosse

Souderton 7, Lansdale Catholic 6 >> Souderton scored all three goals in the fourth quarter as the Indians rallied from a 5-3 halftime deficit to earn a non-league win.

John Martin Vince had four goals and five ground balls four Souderton. Sean Landis scored the game-winner and finished with a goal and an assist. Seth Grossman also had a goal and an assist, Trey Bui added a goal while Brody Anderson collected two assists.

Indians goalie Matt Malanga made 10 saves. Peyton Bannak won 9-of-16 faceoffs and had four ground balls.
