High Schools: Interboro softball team wins Del Val League title

Interboro locked up the Del Val League softball championship with a 16-4 win over Chichester Wednesday afternoon.

Winning pitcher Jules Bergen had five strikeouts and helped her cause with two hits and three RBIs.

Mare Nagle went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored for the Bucs (12-3, 7-0). Vanessa Harrity added three hits, including a triple and four RBIs, and Olivia Bulovas went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.

In the Central League:

Haverford 8, Ridley 3 >> Alli Daly went the distance from the circle and helped herself with four hits and two runs scored. Madie Culbertson added three hits, including a double, and Lucy Ardizzi paired two hits with two stolen bases for the Fords.

Springfield 4, Harriton 0 >> Payton Feeney tossed a two-hit shutout and Ryleigh Frye went 3-for-3 with a double for the Cougars. Ava Craddock tripled and scored three times and Fiona McLaughlin had an RBI double.

Garnet Valley 15, Lower Merion 0 >> Zoey Rogers (double) and Lauren Gartman had three hits each to lead the Jaguars. Alaina Sareyka (triple), Jenna Fulmer (triple) and Amy Roux each went 2-for-3.

Conestoga 11, Upper Darby 1 >> Janie Lofland recorded three of her team’s 14 hits as the Pioneers improved to 12-1. Mary Crowley was the winning pitcher.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Downingtown West 2, Sun Valley 0 >> Layla Murphy pitched well in defeat and collected two hits for the Vanguards.

Girls Lacrosse

Arianna Coghlan scored four goals and Lily Ebersole scored three goals and collected three assists, as Marple Newtown doubled up Harriton, 18-9, in a Central League girls lacrosse match Tuesday.

Lizzie Getz and Riley Matson scored twice for the Tigers, while goalie Rowan Hilden made six saves.

In another Central League girls match from Tuesday:

Ridley 12, Strath Haven 10 >> Abby Axe (three assists) and Callie Bryan (two assists) registered two goals each to help lead Ridley to a win.

Boys Lacrosse

Parker Williams, Josh Graham and Luke O’Donoghue all scored three goals to boost Garnet Valley to a 10-4 win over Penncrest in a Central League boys lacrosse match Tuesday.

Andrew Goldt had a goal and assist, Ethan Potochar had a pair of assists.

For Penncrest, Owen Thompson had two goals, Aaron Goldstein had two assists. Penncrest’s Caden Paukstis and Garnet’s Andrew Keaveney made nine saves each.

Tennis

Markos Pittaoulis, Brendan Carrol and Chris Curran swept singles events as Ridley defeated Sun Valley 5-2. In doubles, Mike Geddes and Saleh Badlis and Tyler Reeve and Ryan Brooks took victories. Sun Valley’s doubles winners were Landon Adams and Josh Coleman and Liam Barlow and James Anderson.
