The West Chester Rustin High School softball team romped to a 14-0 win against Unionville Tuesday. Starting pitcher Ashley Falcone surrendered just two hits to register the complete-game shutout for the Knights. Kelly Fricker notched three hits and Olivia Garner added two hits and drove in five runs for the winners. Jenna Kraft, Olivia Shuffler and Joslyn Garner each added two hits for Rustin. Shannon Megill had a double to pace the Longhorns.

Sun Valley 5, Oxford 4 >> In this Monday matchup, the Hornets were led by Molly Friel (2-for-4, doubles, two RBIs), Alexa Keenan (2-for-4, RBI) and Natalie D’Onofrio (triple, RBI).

 

 

Baseball

Oxford 4, Sun Valley 3 >> The Hornets took an early 3-0 lead and then won it in the bottom of the seventh. Cam Weaver led the way offensively with two hits. Pitchers Landon Rozich and Tom Matuszewski combined for eight strikeouts and surrendered just five hits and one earned run.

 

Girls’ Lacrosse

Manheim Township 10, Downingtown East 5 >> Lexie Conte had a hat trick for the Cougars, Riley Marks scored a goal and won two draw controls, and Finley Mulhern collected four ground balls and caused two opposition turnovers.

 

College

Men’s Lacrosse

Mighty Macs’ Azzarano honored >> Immaculata University graduate student David Azzarano was named to the Atlantic East Conference Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced Monday. Arrazano had a combined four goals, six assists and seven ground balls over two games for Immaculata. He had three goals and two assists vs Marywood on April 24 to help lead Immaculata to a win that clinched the program’s first-ever playoff home game. He had one goal and four assists and five ground balls vs Neumann on April 27. Azzarano led the Mighty Macs in scoring this season with a new IU program single season record of 85 points.

 

Women’s Track & Field

Immaculata’s Steinbicker feted >> The Atlantic East Conference announced their Women’s Track & Field Awards on Monday evening. Immaculata University sophomore Mary Steinbicker was named to the Atlantic East Conference Women’s Track & Field Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced Monday. Steinbicker finished second place in the 400-meter with an Immaculata program record time of 1:01.33 at the Last Chance Invitational hosted by West Chester on April 26.
