Roundup (April 29): Boyertown’s Alina Friz scores five goals in thrilling 12-11 girls lax win over Spring-Ford

Boyertown 12, Spring-Ford 11

Alina Friz tallied five goals and two assists and Hannah Adamski chipped in a hat trick along with five draw controls as Boyertown picked up a dramatic PAC Liberty win over Spring-Ford.

Kamryn Pier scored twice for the Bears, while Reagan Harner and Peyton Shellaway added a goal each in the victory.

Teagan Tyson made seven saves in goal.

Upper Perkiomen 18, Pottsgrove 8

Upper Perk turned a 6-4 lead after one quarter into a 13-5 halftime lead as Abby Davidheiser and Sarah Fisher led the way with four goals each.

Mia Schneider had three goals for the Indians, and Maggie Milkowich and Abby Orsini each found the back of the net twice.

Marianne Uber, Grace Vogel and Giana Kozminski all scored once for Upper Perk.

Cece Hires and Emily Sorg each posted hat tricks in the losing effort for the Falcons, with Josie Wyatt also having an impact offensively with two goals.

Maddie Miller made seven saves for Pottsgrove.

Phoenixville 13, Upper Merion 3

Erin Reedy scored seven goals in a dominant offensive performance for the Phantoms, who picked up a PAC Frontier win on Monday.

Maggie Rast scored twice for the Phantoms, while Danielle Elliasson, Kylie Joyce, Bridget Kelly and Ava Iaston each posted a goal.

Elisa Dougherty scored twice for the Vikings in the loss. Sam Walmsley also scored, and Mackenzie Davis added an assist.

Maddie Novitski came up with eight saves in the loss.

Baseball

Pottsgrove 6, Upper Perkiomen 3

Pottsgrove scored three times in the sixth and once more in the seventh to turn a one-run deficit into a come-from-behind PAC Frontier victory over Upper Perkiomen.

Gabe Rinda had two hits and three RBI for the victors, while Shane O’Hanlon chipped in two hits and two RBI. Ricky Scott was 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Zayd Rogers drew the start for Pottsgrove, allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out five and walking four. Blayne Bainbridge struck out the only batter he faced to pick up the win in relief.

Zane Saeger, Owen Williams and Braden Rieg all knocked in runs for Upper Perk. Kyle Mazzie struck out seven in five innings, yielding three runs on four hits in the losing effort.

Aidan Keyser was saddled with the loss after allowing two runs and two walks in 0.2 innings.

Methacton 10, Owen J. Roberts 0

Methacton ended OJR’s 10-game winning streak in dominant fashion, as Evan Jones did not allow a hit in six innings in picking up a huge PAC Liberty win.

The Warriors struck for six runs in the bottom of the second and never looked back. Nick Remish and Tommy Kratz each homered and knocked in three runs in the win, while Bryce Lohsen went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

Dysen Neill drew the start for the Wildcats and surrendered five runs and five hits in 1.2 innings, while Gavin Cinkowski relieved him and also gave up five runs in 3.1 frames.

Phoenixville 9, Upper Merion 1

Kevin Kingsbury threw six innings of one-run ball and also knocked in two runs in Phoenixville’s PAC Frontier rout of Upper Merion. Kingsbury struck out eight and walked three to pick up the victory.

Ryan Jacobson also knocked in two runs for the Phantoms, and Christian Cervino was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, RBI and run scored out of the nine-hole. Phoenixville greeted the Vikings with three runs in the bottom of the first and scored six more in the home fifth.

Dylan Roberts had an RBI double and stole a base for Upper Merion in the losing effort.

Softball

Methacton 13, Owen J. Roberts 12

Owen J. Roberts rallied from a five-run deficit, only for Methacton to post a four-spot in the top of the seventh and hold on for the victory after the Wildcats again tried to rally in their final at bat.

Sydney Hockenbrock and Soleil Bond-Johnson each had four hits for the Warriors, while Jenna Kaufman clubbed a home run in Methacton’s 17-hit outburst.

Elsewhere for Methacton, Mia Pettine doubled, knocked in two and scored two runs and Madison Krupiewski was 3-for-5 with two steals and two RBI in the win.

Liza Flavin (2-for-4, SB, 2RBI, 2R), Amelia Atkins (2-for-3, 2RBI) and Avery Fallon (2-for-4, 2RBI, 2R) all delivered at the plate for OJR.

Spring-Ford 3, Boyertown 2

Jess Fliszar allowed just three hits and two unearned runs in a complete game victory for the Rams, striking out six and walking five. She also went 3-for-4 out of the leadoff spot and knocked in a run.

Spring-Ford scored once apiece in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Riley Gancasz and Kayla Naylor each doubled and knocked in runs in the winning effort.

Kyra Neiswender pitched well in the loss for Boyertown, going the distance while allowing one earned run on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Alexis Laboy doubled and knocked in a run for the Bears, and Jenna Fox knocked in a run in four at bats.

Upper Perkiomen 7, Pottsgrove 3

Erin Gray fired a complete game win for Upper Perk, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking none in leading her squad to a PAC Frontier win.

Ryan Berg was 3-for-4 with a triple, stolen base and two RBI, while Ashley Forrest also chipped in a three-hit day (two doubles) with two runs knocked in.

Elizabeth Proctor (2-for-4, 2B, SB, RBI, 2R) and Brooke Sullivan (1-for-2, 3SB) also contributed to the victory.

Adrianna Kennedy and Mikayla Eckman each hit a solo home run for Pottsgrove. Eckman drew the start in the circle and yielded six runs on eight hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

Pope John Paul II 22, Pottstown 3

The Golden Panthers produced 22 runs on 15 hits in a demonstrative triumph over Pottstown.

Molly Houchins (2B, 5RBI, 4R) and Sarah Boyce (2RBI, 2R) each went 3-for-3 in the win. Meanwhile, Rylee Derecola (3B, 3RBI, 3R), Kelly Murphy (2B, 3RBI, 2R) and Hannah Satalin (2B, 2RBI, 2R) all collected two hits for PJP.

Keiara Lesley was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two stolen bases for the Trojans.

Perkiomen School 11, New Foundations Charter School 1

Lillian Kovaleski knocked in three runs and stole two bases and Cami Hannigan-Christian doubled, stole a base and knocked in two runs as Perkiomen School routed New Foundations Charter on Monday.

Other big performers on offense for the Panthers included Kenna Tobin (2-for-4, 2B, 3B, 2R), Emily Lessard (1-for-3, SB, 3R) and Cameron McQuade (1-for-3, 2B, 2SB, RBI, 3R).

Claudia Knowles fired five immaculate innings in the win, allowing just an unearned run on two hits while striking out 11 and walking none.
