The West Chester Rustin High School softball team defeated Oxford, 11-6, Monday, led by Kelly Fricker (home run, two doubles, walk) and Olivia Garner (three doubles.) Jenna Kraft, Morgan Palotas, Joslyn Garner and winning pitcher Lauren Greenwood each had two hits for the Golden Knights, and Jess Kelly cracked a double. For Oxford, Alexa Keenan and Molly Friel each hit a home run, and Sydney Kargulewicz had two hits.

 

Baseball

Downingtown West 4, West Chester Henderson 0 >> Whippet pitchers Drew Turner (five innings) and Jake Mello (two innings) combined for a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 batters.

Oxford 9, West Chester Rustin 7 >> The Hornets were led by Landen Rozich (3-for-4, three RBIs, two runs scored) and Cole Jennings (three runs scored, two RBIs). Jackson Roche had two hits for Rustin.

 

Boys’ Tennis

West Chester Henderson 7, Coatesville 0 >>  The Warriors won six matches in straights sets, including all the singles matches. Singles winners were Bensen Li (first singles), Agastya Singh (second) and Nathan Himsworth (third).

Unionville 7, Downingtown West 0 >> The Longhorns (13-1 overall, 11-1 Ches-Mont) won six matches in straight sets and swept the singles matches, with Matt Miller (first singles), Andrew Ou (second) and Andy Ye (third) prevailing.

College

Men’s tennis

Neumann 5, Immaculata 4 >> The Mighty Macs won four singles matches, with Jason Watts (first singles), Troy Watts (second), Nicholas Fleming (third) and Nicholas Brown (fifth) prevailing for Immaculata.
