High Schools: Chichester’s Natalia Willoughby scores seven goals in win over Academy Park

Natalia Willoughby had the magic touch for the Chichester girls lacrosse team Tuesday afternoon.

Willoughby scored seven goals to lead the Eagles to a 14-4 Del Val League victory over Academy Park.

Elise Neff and Alyssa Keeth added two goals apiece and goalie Jayla Anderson made three saves.

Tayviarra Sudler had two goals for the Knights.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Agnes Irwin 16, Germantown Academy 8 >> Blair Fox had four goals and four draw controls to lead the Owls.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 15, Notre Dame 14 >> Alex Reilly delivered the winning goal in overtime, the 200th of her career. She finished with seven goals and seven draw controls.

Keira McHugh, Abby Sims (three assists) and Riley Davis (two assists) each had four goals for the Irish.

In the Central League:

Springfield 14, Lower Merion 5 >> Jaclyn Guille led a balanced attack for the Cougars with three goals and one assist. Maddie Kane amassed two goals and two assists, while Allie Hunter paired one goal with two assists. Geena Augello and Maddy McBride shared goalkeeper duties, finishing with three saves apiece.

Rachel Riggio had a hat trick for the Aces.

Haverford 10, Strath Haven 9 >> Kayla Elliot led the Fords with four goals. Chloe Taylor registered six ground balls and four caused turnovers. Annie Walker added two goals and five draw controls.

Conestoga 12, Garnet Valley 7 >> Chloe Brown accumulated three goals, one assist, five draw controls and five ground balls for the Pioneers.

Sammy Wood paced the Jaguars with four goals, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 18, Archbishop Ryan 9 >> Fran Fazio and Honor Breen did plenty of the damage for the Lions, scoring six goals apiece. Fazio had nine draw controls, eight ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Other standouts for O’Hara included Eva Marquis (three goals) and Gianna Iacone (two goals). Marina Mersch registered nine saves in net.

Boys Lacrosse

Ty Gougler collected three goals and three assists during Springfield’s 19-4 win over Lower Merion.

Brad Barber, Jared Kennedy and Pat Flaherty (one assist) also recorded hat tricks for the Cougars. Ty Henderson had two goals and an assist, and Luke Valerio added three helpers.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

Haverford 6, Strath Haven 1 >> Wade Devitis (nine saves) was outstanding in goal for the Fords. Nils McCallion carried the Haverford attack with three goals and to assists. Liam Taylor, Earmon Brennan and Kriston McKendry all scored once.

Ryan Henry had the Panthers’ goal.

Marple Newtown 18, Ridley 8 >> Evan Kostack produced five goals and three assists to lead the Tigers. Ryan Keating contributed three goals and three assists.

Chase Staley and Chris Capozzoli had two goals and an assist each for Ridley. Luke Showalter dished four assists. Aaron Headley also scored twice.

Garnet Valley 15, Conestoga 4 >> Ethan Potochar posted four goals, and Andrew Goldt (three assists) and Parker Williams (one assist) each registered hat tricks for the Jaguars, who led 10-1 at halftime. Kai Lopez had two goals and went 18-for-23 on faceoffs.

Andrew Keaveney set a Garnet Valley record with his 500th career save.

Radnor 14, Penncrest 6 >> Kessy Cox totaled four goals and four assists to help first-place Raptors to another win. John Webb stopped six shots in goal.

Matt Ferry netted three goals for the Lions. Aaron Goldstein added two goals and a pair of assists.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Haverford School 10, Malvern 8 >> Aydan DiRocco notched a hat trick to lead the Fords past the Friars in a battle of the top-ranked boys teams in the area, according to Phillylacrosse.com.

Connor Nolen added two goals, and goalie Brody Murphy stopped 14 shots.

Episcopal Academy 17, Germantown Academy 1 >> Jake Manion led the offensive parade with seven goals. Jackson Orcutt paired two goals with three assists. Blake Riley went 11-for-13 at the X, and Jack Guido made six saves.

Baseball

Chester scratched out two unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning to take down Academy Park, 8-7.

Brandon Colon raced home with the go-ahead run on a dropped third strike. Moments earlier, Jahmai Brown, who had three walks, scored the tying run thanks to an error.

Jacoby Roman drove in two runs for the Clippers (5-3).

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 20, Valley Forge Military Academy 0 >> Peter Certo tossed three no-hit innings and Cody Dill reached base every time he came to the plate for the Knights.

In the Inter-Ac League:

Malvern Prep 9, Haverford School 1 >> Jaidyn Rivera had a pair of hits and scored a run, but the Fords (10-5-1, 2-1) fell behind 6-0 in the first inning and never recovered.

Tague Davis pitched a three-hitter with three strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with an RBI double.

Girls Golf

Agnes Irwin School’s Addie Chang recorded a birdie and four pars on the way to scoring a round of 40 in the Owls’ 225-306 victory over Episcopal Academy at Sunnybrook Golf Club.

Libby Flaisher also shot a 40 and Elizabeth Hershey (47) had four pars for AIS.
