BASEBALL

Upper Perkiomen 15, Oley Valley 13

Isaac Bugman and Braden Rieg each knocked in three runs for Upper Perk, while Jack Schramm and Evan Sands contributed two hits and two RBI apiece. The Indians raced out to a 9-0 lead and held on even as Oley Valley mounted multiple rallies, getting within 9-7 and 13-12 but never taking the lead. Rieg picked up the win after pitching four innings of five-hit, four-run ball.

SOFTBALL

Villa Maria Academy 13, Pope John Paul II 1

Alyssa DeMaio was 3-for-3 with a grand slam for Villa Maria, and Anna Stroup was 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the team’s runaway non-league win. Molly Houchins was 1-for-3 with a double for PJP while playing strong defense at shortstop. Grace Fitzgerald knocked in Kelly Murphy for the Golden Panthers’ lone run.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Phoenixville 15, New Hope-Solebury 9

Will Linko scored five times and added four assists for the Phantoms, and teammates Brady O’Donnell (three goals), Finn Blanton (three) and Bennett Hathaway (two) also registered multi-goal efforts in the win. Cole Hathaway and Christian Rosone each scored, and Declan McCoy chipped in four assists. Rosone won 18 face-offs and had a team-leading seven ground balls. Nico Tenbroeck recorded 11 saves in the cage for Phoenixville.

Pottsgrove 14, Schuylkill Valley 7

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Wilson 17, Spring-Ford 11

Megan Ruckman scored three goals in a losing effort for Spring-Ford, and Hailey Mozi, Gianna DiBattista, Lexi Sowers all scored twice in the losing effort. Mogan Evak and Rella Talley added goals, Lindsay Evak recorded six draw controls and Ilyanna Jones made seven saves in goal.

Upper Dublin 12, Boyertown 8

Boyertown fell behind 7-2 at halftime but kept it competitive in the second half, scoring six goals and ultimately falling by four to Upper Dublin. Alina Friz and Hannah Adamski tallied three goals each in the losing effort, while teammates Camryn Friz and Jordyn Diffenderfer also found the back of the net for the Bears. Teagan Tyson made seven saves for Boyertown.

Downingtown East 7, Owen J. Roberts 6

OJR led 3-2 after three quarters, but Downingtown East rallied for four fourth-quarter goals to force overtime before Riley Marks walked it off in the extra session. Ally Flynn scored twice for the victors, while Lexie Conte, Sofia Fanelli, Jayne Michaels and Collyn Kropp all added one for Downingtown East.

Sierra Milano led OJR with two goals and Kerrigan Sweeney made six saves in goal. Keira Clemson, Laina Grimm, Natalie Chin and Morgan Karas all scored for the Wildcats in the losing effort.

Schuylkill Valley 20, Pottsgrove 6

Christine Hires and Vivian Kyker each scored a pair of Pottsgrove, but the Falcons couldn’t slow down Schuylkill Valley’s potent offensive attack. Emily Sorg and Josie Wyatt also scored for the Falcons, and Maddie Miller made nine saves in the losing effort. Reese Weddie scored seven times for Schuylkill Valley, and Grace Wysocki and Gianna Kaylor had four goals apiece.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Spring-Ford 3, Lower Merion 1 (25-17, 25-18, 20-25, 25-22)

PJ Sczerba had a team-leading 16 kills for Spring-Ford, while teammates Oliver Bunn and Caleb Summers posted 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Connor Dadourian chipped in 20 digs for the Rams, and Colton Brogdon had a team-high 34 assists along with eight digs. Sczerba also contributed 10 digs in the win.
