It was a silver studded day for Episcopal Academy at the PTFCA Indoor State Championships Sunday, with the Churchmen taking home five individual silver medals.

EA also took home one of three relay golds won by Delco schools at Penn State University’s Multisport Indoor Facility, with the boys winning the 4 x 800 relay. Chester’s girls won the 4 x 200, as did Haverford’s 4 x 400 girls.

Joachim Johnson and Avery Elliott took home two silver medals each. Johnson cleared 6-6 to finish runner-up in the high jump. His 47 feet, 11.5 inches was second in the triple jump, one spot ahead of CJ Simbiri of Delco Christian (46-9.5).

Avery Elliott covered the 60-meter hurdles in 8.85 seconds to earn silver. She added a runner-up leap of 18-9.75 in the long jump.

Alphonso Koukou garnered silver with a best toss of 56-11.75 in the boys shot put. Abaas Hunter finished fifth in the 200 meters and sixth in the 400. Saige Forbes medaled fifth in the girls 60-meter dash. The EA boys won the 4 x 800, was fifth in the 4 x 400 and seventh in the distance medley relay.

Chester’s female sprinters were constantly in the mix, making the 4 x 200 gold no surprise. JaNasia Dearry took fifth in the 400 and sixth in the 200. Alasia Mosley finished seventh in the 60 and ninth in the 200. Damira Allen was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles.

Individual silver came for Haverford’s Olivia Cieslak, who went 4:53.59 in the mile. Haverford got gold in the 4 x 400 and fifth in the 4 x 800.

Ridley was constantly in the relay picture on the boys side, finishing fifth in the 4 x 800 and eighth in the 4 x 400 and DMR. Jesufifunmi Olugbenga took home bronze in the 400. That was the medal of choice for the leading Delco boys, with Gabriel Cuffey of Archbishop Carroll garnering bronze in the 800 and Danny Shickel of Cardinal O’Hara in the 60 hurdles.

The latter was one spot ahead of George Bostick of Penncrest. Logan Maloney of O’Hara was sixth in the 200, and the Lions took third in the 4 x 200 relay. Chester’s Quamere Cosby was in the top 10 in both the 200 (ninth) and 400 (seventh). Penncrest was third in the 4 x 800 and fifth in the DMR.

The boys triple jump included four Delco medalists, with Jayden Brown of Ridley fifth and Penn Wood’s Kivaleon Clarke sixth. Radnor’s Noah Wampole finished fifth in the high jump.

On the girls’ side, Sophia Hill of Radnor finished fourth in the pole vault. Zoe Clark of Penncrest (400) and Layla Duggan of Springfield (60 hurdles) each medaled in sixth.
