The Pioneer Athletic Conference basketball championship schedule has changed due to weather-related school cancellations on Tuesday.

The PAC boys’ basketball final between Spring-Ford and Phoenixville at Perkiomen Valley will now be held Wednesday, 7 p.m. at Perkiomen Valley.

The girls’ final, between Perkiomen Valley and host Spring-Ford, was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but has been moved to Thursday (7 p.m.) in an effort by the conference to present the finals on back-to-back days.

Previously purchased tickets for each game will still be valid. Tickets are available for purchase at https://www.pac-athletics.com/

In Wednesday’s boys final, it’s a battle between division champions and the breakout PAC teams of the past two seasons. A year ago, Spring-Ford shot to the top of the conference, winning the PAC championship and reaching the final eight of the PIAA 6A Championships. This season, Phoenixville went from a fourth-place finisher in the Frontier Division in 2022-23 to running away with the division and advancing to its first PAC final since 2007. Finishing with a 10-12 record a year ago, Phoenixville is 17-6 and is in favorable position to qualify for the PIAA tournament as the No. 4 seed for the District 1-5A Championships, which begin Friday.

Thursday’s girls championship matches the PAC’s current best rivalry across all sports. It will be the seventh meeting in two seasons between the programs, with Perkiomen Valley on a current five-game winning streak in the rivalry. Their last matchup, on Feb. 2, went to overtime at Spring-Ford, ultimately going the Vikings’ way.

A complete preview of the girls’ final will be published Wednesday.
