High Schools: Jalen Harris’ career-best night helps earn league crown for Chester

Chester is back atop the Del Val League.

Jalen Harris led the way with a career-high 19 points as the Clippers beat Interboro, 84-55, to improve to 17-1 on the season, including a title-clinching 7-0 start to Del Val play.

Jaseir Thompson added 16 points. Dante Atkinson scored nine, and Calvin Williams chipped in eight. The Clippers hit 12 3-pointers and led by 14 after one quarter.

Sean Thomas led Interboro with 18 points. Zakhai Collins chipped in 13.

In the Central League:

Garnet Valley 64, Haverford 44 >> Grayson Golek scored 15 points, and Jack Krautzel and Jake Sniras scored 11 apiece as the Jaguars improved to 13-7 (9-6 Central).

Andrew Steigleman dropped in 11 points for Haverford. Owen Morris added nine.

In nonleague action:

Radnor 70, Holy Ghost Prep 64 >> The Raptors scored the last nine points of the game to come away with the victory late Wednesday. Elijah Sellers scored 19 points and Henry Pierce added 17 for Radnor. Kessy Cox added 11 points.

Girls Basketball

Taylor Eagan did a little of everything for Bonner & Prendergast Thursday, posting 13 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and eight steals in a 52-29 Catholic League win over Little Flower.

Mara George led all scorers with 14 points. Leah Walker tossed in 10 points.

Also in the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 67, Archbishop Ryan 28 >> Molly Rullo led 12 scorers with 11 points as the Lions rolled. Natalie DiBlasi and Brigid MacGillivray chipped in eight points each.

In the Del Val League:

Academy Park 59, Chichester 30 >> Emani Banks scored 17 points and Kiala Bright added 10 to lead the Knights. AP outscored Chi, 17-3, over the last eight minutes to put the game away.

Zaira Taylor hit two 3-pointers to finish with eight points.

Rayne Edwards led Chichester with 10 points.

Chester 54, Interboro 41 >> Jordan Dennis paired 18 points with 11 steals as the Clippers led 20-2 after eight minutes and repelled Interboro’s rally attempt.

Imani Dorsey tallied 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Ja’Mya Muhammad collected 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Shyne Hall scored 10 points.

Ashley Talbot led Interboro with 10 points, and Izzy Horowitz and Maddie Mea scored eight apiece.

In nonleague action:

Sun Valley 46, Collegium Charter 38 >> Luci D’Amico dominated the paint to tally 17 points and 15 rebounds to help the Vanguards recover from a 10-point first-quarter deficit and pick up their 10th win of the season.

Brielle Wright hit four 3-pointers for 12 points. Nora Novotni scored nine points.
