LEWIS, Downingtown West – Now a junior, Lewis has been a three-year standout for the Whippets. She placed third at the Ches-Mont Championship and was tied for 14th at the District 1 Tournament. “It was Emma’s most successful season and she will be the leader of a very strong team in the 2024 season,” said her coach Andrew Braun.
SOPHIA DeSANTIS, West Chester Rustin – A senior, DeSantis competed for the Golden Knights’ boys’ squad all season and contributed mightily. Her scoring average for 9-holes was 37 and she was the Ches-Mont Tournament runner-up in the girls’ competition. DeSantis then registered a top-20 finish at districts.
JILL BURKS, Conestoga – One of the region’s most impressive freshmen, Burks averaged 40 for 9-hole matches. She logged a fifth at the District 1 Tournament and was tied for 16th at the PIAA Championship.
BRYNNE MUSHLIN, Conestoga – A senior, Mushlin averaged 41 in dual meets in 2023. She was eighth in the district and 26th at states.
SARINA PATEL, Unionville – A team captain, Patel led the Longhorns’ with a 43 average for 9-holes. The junior notched a top-6 finish in the Ches-Mont.

Coach of the Year: Jim Moran, Conestoga
Jim Moran has been the Pioneers’ head coach for three seasons, and 2023 was a banner year for Conestoga girls golf. The Daily Local News Coach of the Year, Moran guided ’Stoga to a pair of team championships, and culminated the campaign by notching a third place at the Class 3A PIAA Championships on Oct. 18. A Health/Physical Education teacher at Conestoga, Moran’s ’23 squad earlier won the Central League team title and then captured the District 1 3A crown on Oct. 9 at Raven’s Claw Golf Club, winning by 6 strokes.
