DLN All-Area Boys’ Golf First Team
CHARLIE BARRICKMAN, Unionville – Barrickman dominated the Ches-Mont Championship to win by four strokes. The sophomore also tied for seventh in the District 1 Tournament and was top-20 at the PIAA Tournament. “The ceiling is very high for Charlie,” said his coach Jimmy O’Rourke. “It wouldn’t surprise me if he was (state medalist) in 2024 or ’25.”
ANESTI KALDEREMTZIS, West Chester Rustin – A sophomore, Kalderemtzis’ 9-hole scoring average for the season was 35. He fired a 70 and was runner-up at the Ches-Mont Championship, and followed it up by placing in a tie for 14th place at both the district and state tournaments.
KASIM NARINESINGH-SMITH, Kennett – A four-year mainstay for the Blue Demons, he registered seventh place in the league, fourth place in the district and was 42nd in the state. “Kasim was remarkably consistent all season and capped off an excellent career with his recent decision to continue his golf career at North Carolina A&T University,” said his coach Kevin Lentz.
CHRIS SUNG, Conestoga – A first-team All-Central League pick as a junior, Sung shot in the 30’s in nearly every dual meet match of the season. “Chris loves to practice and play,” said his coach John Jones. “He has an all-around complete game.”
JOSH BAKER, West Chester Henderson – Baker’s 34.25 scoring average was the best in the Ches-Mont National. He competed in back-to-back district and state tournaments to end his high school career, and finished fifth and 25th, respectively, in his senior year. Baker also placed in a tie for seventh in the Ches-Mont.
MICHAEL HENRY, Malvern Prep – A first-team All-Inter-Ac selection, Henry averaged 35.9 for the season, which is second in school history. The junior was the team MVP and registered a runner-up finish in both the league and PAISSA Championship. “Michael is one of the premier players in the Tri-State area,” said his coach Gary Duda.
MICHAEL KELLER, Unionville – A junior, Keller averaged less than a stroke over par and led the Longhorns to a third place team finish at states. He placed seventh at the Ches-Mont Tournament. “He was our most consistent player and did not have a bad round of golf,” said his coach Jimmy O’Rourke. “His scoring mindset might be the best I ever had.”
NICK CIOCCA, Devon Prep – Despite missing several weeks with an injury, Ciocca finished the season ranked 11th in the Philadelphia Catholic League. His average score was 36.4 for 9 holes and placed ninth in the PIAA 2A Championship. He led the Tide to two state team titles as a sophomore and a senior.
CARSON HOLMES, Coatesville – Just a sophomore, Holmes became the first Coatesville boys’ state qualifier since 1985, and finished 42nd. He led his team in scoring in 13 of 14 matches and ended the season with a 38.8 scoring average. Holmes placed in the top 15 in the league and top 10 in the district.

At the ’23 Philadelphia Catholic League Tournament, Devon Prep placed third overall, in front of everybody except a pair of much larger schools: La Salle and St. Josephs Prep.
