The Downingtown West High School girls’ volleyball team defeated North Penn, 3-0, Monday. The Whippets (5-7, 3-4) posted scores of 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17. For D-West, Fallon Mitchell had nine kills, six aces and 23 digs; Emma Helveston had seven kills and two aces; Ava Harple had three kills, six aces and 14 digs; Madi Dougherty had 24 digs; Maggie McLaughlin had 14 assists, 12 digs and four aces; and Sarah Sherner had 10 assists and 10 digs.

Girls’ tennis

Downingtown West 7, Central Bucks East 0 >> The Whippets won all seven matches in straight sets. Singles winners were Ramona Feierabend (first singles), Sanni Varanasi (second singles) and Gianna Brown (third singles). Doubles winners were Isabel Schreffler/Ashritha Dunaboyina, Ella Mae Markowski/Elaine Hu, Peyton Clark/Avika Mundra and Mara Lipkin/Sara Stauffer.

West Chester Henderson 7, Coatesville 0 >> The Warriors won six matches in straight sets and captured the fourth doubles match by default. Singles winners were Annabelle Speers (first singles), Sophie Brode (second singles) and Erin McCartney (third singles). Doubles winners were Madi Kenny/Rose Sweeney, Lila Moffett/Livia Corbett and Ella Tantorski/Delaney Heller.

 

Girls’ soccer

Downingtown East 6, Coatevsille 0 >> Madison Shumate scored two goals, and Taylor Coulter, Addison Fink, Collyn Kropp and Katie Edwards scored singles goals. Assisted were dished out by Edwards, Coulter, Bailey Horvath, Jenna Lacey and Katie Beck. Madison Simonton and McKenzie Walter combined in goal for the shutout.
