Berks I

Reading High

Coach: Mike Fisher, fourth season.

Last season: 8-0 Berks I, 16-4; Berks champ, District 3 Class 3A fourth place, PIAA Class 3A qualifier.

PIAA classification: 3A.

Players to watch: All-division Hailey Guerrero, Hallie Guerrero, Haylee Ortega.

Outlook: After losing two of their top players, the Red Knights still bring back key players to help them compete for another county title.

Conrad Weiser

Coach: Ryan Knarr, ninth season.

Last season: 7-1 Berks I, 16-4; District 3 Class 2A runner-up, PIAA Class 2A quarterfinalist.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: Three-time Berks Player of the Year Emma Perkins, Isabel Wiggins, Charlotte Wenrich, Emily McGonigle, Reagan Wenrich.

Outlook: The Scouts are looking to reach the district final for the sixth straight year and the state tournament for the seventh straight year.

Gov. Mifflin

Coach: Darren Kostival, fourth season.

Last season: 6-2 Berks I, 11-4.

PIAA classification: 3A.

Players to watch: All-Berks Frianna Farfan, Megan Baldwin, Kira Jones, Jillian Rosenbaum, Rylie Gallen.

Outlook: The Mustangs will look to be competitive as they only lost one player from their top five. They will have a shot to make the playoffs two seasons in a row.

Wilson

Coach: Todd Gensemer, first season.

Last season: 4-4 Berks I, 7-5.

PIAA  classification: 3A.

Player to watch: Jin Lin Chen.

Outlook: The Bulldogs hope to compete in every match and are hoping to qualify for the county playoffs. They have one senior in the top six surrounded by three freshmen and two sophomores. They’ll look to gain experience, have fun, and be competitive.

Exeter

Coach: Michael Herman, 10th season.

Last season: 4-4 Berks I, 4-9.

PIAA classification: 3A.

Players to watch: All-Berks Hansika Kunduru, Myah Marturano.

Outlook: The Eagles feel they can compete for the county championship.

Fleetwood

Coach: Larry Zerbe.

Last season: 3-5 Berks I, 5-7.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: Erin Sonon, Kelsie Touche.

Outlook: The Tigers’ goal is to compete at the highest levels, at both singles and doubles.

Daniel Boone

Coach: Ryan Burke, fifth season.

Last season: 2-6 Berks I, 5-12.

PIAA classification: 3A.

Players to watch: Cali Worrall, Stefanie Le.

Outlook: The Blazers have many new faces but are led by a pair of very capable seniors. The theme for all of the new team members is learning the game and growing as the season goes on.

Twin Valley

Coach: Katie Rementer.

Last season: 2-6 Berks I, 2-10.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: Information not reported.

Outlook: Looking to improve.

Muhlenberg

Coach: Brian Kopetsky, second season.

Last season: 0-8 Berks I, 0-9.

PIAA classification: 3A.

Players to watch: Evie Brewer, Yeanneth Rosado, Hayler Moyer, China Joseph, Molly Stroupe.

Outlook: Last season the Muhls started with three players and grew the team to five. They tried to build a foundation from last year and return four of the five players while adding four new faces. The focus will be more on internal competition and improving skill levels.

Berks II

Brandywine Heights

Coach: Bryan Rothermel, fifth season.

Last season: 5-2 Berks II, 7-4.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: All-division Abby Davidheiser, Maci Rohrbach, Hannah Dougherty.

Outlook: The Bullets return all five starters from last season and should be in the hunt for the division title.

Wyomissing

Coach: Joelle Lamboley, first season.

Last season: 7-0 Berks II, 12-3 District 3 Class 2A third place, PIAA class 2A qualifier.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: All-Berks, Charlotte Reedy, Lily Chen

Outlook: The Spartans lost two strong seniors last year, but their team will be experienced and competitive.

Hamburg

Coach: Leon “Bud” Bucheit, 17th season.

Last season: 6-1 Berks II, 10-4; District 3 Class 2A qualifier.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: All-Berks Mia Gassert.

Outlook: The Hawks are a top-heavy team looking to make a push for the county playoffs.

Berks Catholic

Coach: Lauren Urban, 9th season.

Last season: 4-3 Berks II, 7-5.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: All-division Isabella Logozzo, all-division Sarah Schnatz, Claire Pakradooni, Cara Cavorsi, Francesca Ditsky.

Outlook: The Saints return most of last year’s varsity line-up with juniors Isabella Logozzo and Sarah Schnatz leading the team. Look  to be competitive and return to the county playoffs.

Kutztown

Coach: Louann and Dale Reppert.

Last season: 3-4 Berks II, 6-6.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Player to watch: Kaydence Bohning.

Outlook: The Cougars will look to rebuild this season as they have no seniors and lost their top three players from last year.

Tulpehocken

Coach: Michael Boltz.

Last season: 2-5 Berks II, 5-8.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: Information not reported.

Outlook: Middle of the pack.

Antietam

Coach: Bill McClain, second season.

Last season: 1-6 Berks II, 3-11.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: Katie McClain, Layna DiSarro.

Outlook: The Mounts’ focus this season is to have fun and improve day by day as they battle through adversity following flooding in July. They are thankful for their temporary “home” at Exeter and look to represent their school and community as positively as possible.

Schuylkill Valley

Coach: Brian Miller, seventh season.

Last season: 0-7 Berks II, 1-13.

PIAA classification: 2A.

Players to watch: Information not reported.

Outlook: The Panthers will look to rebuild this season as they lost seven seniors.
