In April, she was honored by PASLA (Pennsylvania Area Schoolgirls Lacrosse Association) as the co-player of the week. During her freshman year in the 2022 season, she earned a Second Team spot. From her coach, “Addie has excellent stick work on both sides [of the field]”

Madden Alexander – Offensive Player of the Year: Alexander, (Coatesville, PA), Collegium’s Junior co-captain, is a three-sport athlete who scored 39 goals in the 2023 season. She was named to All-League teams in both Volleyball (Honorable Mention) and Girls Basketball (Second Team) during the 2022-23 season. In 2022, she earned a spot on the First Team All League for Girls Lacrosse. Despite spending a significant amount of time on the defensive end, her true position on her club team, she ranks among the top five goal scorers in the league this season. From her coach, “Madden was our glue and team heartbeat this season. She is an incredible student too! Without her leadership and athleticism, this year would’ve been a different experience.”

Sydney Stevens – Defensive Player of the Year: Stevens (Paoli, PA), a third-year starter, made a strong comeback from a season-ending injury in the middle of the 2022 season. She is a dynamic defensive player who led the team in caused turnovers with 48. Known for her speed, she excels at scooping up ground balls and collected a total of 45. Stevens served as the anchor and leader of her team’s defense. From her coach, [she is] “driven and always hustles.”

Sarah Kurpel – Coach of the Year: Coach Kurpel (Aston, PA) was selected by her peers as the Bicentennial Athletic League Girls Lacrosse Coach of the Year. Coach serves as the AD at Collegium and stepped in at the last minute. The young Cougar team only amassed 3 wins in the 2023 campaign but she From Bob Cummings, Jenkintown Coach, “Sarah really stepped up at the last minute and did a fantastic job coaching her team. Although Sarah is very busy, she really cares for her team and her players know it. There is always a very positive energy coming from her team huddles during and after the game. In talking to some of her players after the game, you can tell that they are very happy to have Sarah as their coach.”

Jenkintown High School – Regular Season Bicentennial Athletic Conference Champion: Led by fifth-year Head Coach Bob Cummings, the Drakes completed an undefeated conference season for the third consecutive season. Their most notable achievement came when they defeated AAA Abington High School, a much larger school. Coach Cummings attributes their success to the program’s growth and the quality of his student-athletes. “[We have] grown from 23 players to 40 players since I began. They are wonderful kids involved in many other school activities, but they are learning to love the game of lacrosse and want to be a part of this team.”
