Delco Roundup: Senkow delivers walk-off winner for Ridley

game. Connor Scanlan went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored from the leadoff spot.

Lower Merion 5, Garnet Valley 0 >> The Aces’ Van Willner dazzled in a complete game shutout of the Jags. The junior allowed only two hits – doubles by Carl Schaller and Drew Van Horn – while striking out 11.

GV starter Logan Nelson worked around two hits, two walks and a run scored to throw three innings with six strikeouts.

Harriton 5, Springfield 1 >> The Cougars took 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI hit by Matt Bean, but the Rams went ahead 2-1 in the second inning and never looked back. Harriton relievers Henry Wheeler and Finn Lamb combined for five shutout innings and six strikeouts.

Aidan Nestor was 2-for-3 and Shane Lennon and Luke Jones each slugged a double for the Cougars.

Boys Tennis

Springfield’s Pablo Soto, Luke Biancaniello and Tristen Cueller were victorious in singles competition as Springfield defeated Ridley, 6-1, in Central League action.

Springfield’s top three doubles of Jimmy Lindsay and Brandon Pirollo, Connor McGown and Dan Olson, and JP Devinney and Jake Scott were winners as well.

Chris Curran and Judah Miller won at the No. 4 doubles match for the Green Raiders.

Conestoga 7, Haverford 0 >> The Fords battled in every match but couldn’t get past the talented Pioneers. Justin Lu defeated Marcelo Sanches 6-2, 6-0 at first singles.

In a nonleague match:

Archbishop Carroll 6, Academy Park 0 >> Luke Linney, Joe Zanoni and Justin Hnat all posted 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play for the Patriots, who recorded their first win of 2023. The Knights fell to 0-3 on the season.
