GIRLS SOCCER

Plymouth Whitemarsh 2, Quakertown 1 >> Marleigh Burton broke a scoreless tie early in the second half to spark the Colonials to an SOL Liberty win Wednesday. 

The freshman finished a long free kick by senior Kate Yocum three minutes into the second half. Angelina Balcer scored three minutes later to double PW’s lead.

Upper Moreland 1, William Tennent 0 >> Willow Taylor scored the lone goal in the Golden Bears SOL Freedom win Wednesday.

After a foul 40 yards out, Lizzie Walker found Taylor inside the box for the finish just three minutes into the game.

Natalie Walton played a strong game in goal for UM while Walker, Devon Bush and Skye Kramer were effective on the back line.

Pennridge 6, Souderton 0 >> The Rams built a 2-0 halftime lead and continued applying pressure in the second half to pick up an SOL Colonial win Wednesday.

Souderton goalkeeper Abby Allen made some highlight-reel saves to keep the game as close as it was.

Lower Moreland 2, Cheltenham 0 >> The Lions scored twice in the first half to pick up an SOL Freedom win over the Panthers.

Cheltenham played better in the second half thanks to keeper Aniya Gladden, who stepped up in the absence of our starting goalie. The defense played strong, led by Tabitha Sterman, Lucy Shaw and Taden Versaw-Barnes. 

Bishop Shanahan 2, Pope John Paul II 0 >> Pope John Paul II dropped a hard-fought non-league game against Shanahan Wednesday.

Kyanni Escudero made eight saves for the Golden Panthers while Cameron Schuler took four shots.

Phoenixville 3, Faith Christian Academy 1 >> After taking a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick, Faith Christian lost a non-league match against Phoenixville Wednesday.

Jaime Michaud scored twice for the Phantoms and Hadley Mardis scored once.

BOYS SOCCER

Methacton 2, Norristown 0 >> Brayden Ahlum assisted on the first goal and added an insurance score in Wednesday’s PAC win.

The Warriors scored both goals in the second half.

Goalkeeper Wyatt Stemler stopped a penalty kick in the first half to keep the game scoreless.

Pennridge 3, Souderton 1 >> The Rams picked up an SOL Colonial win over the Indians Wednesday.

Pennridge took a 1-0 lead into halftime and double its advantage early after intermission.

Souderton’s Giuseppe Sirchia made it 2-1 in the 53rd minute, but that’s as close as his side would get.

FIELD HOCKEY

Upper Merion 8, Pottstown 0 >> Ashley Evitts scored three goals to lead the Vikings to a PAC win Wednesday.

Rylie McGrath added two goals and an assist while Chloe Wardlow, Elle Meade and Julianna Callison each scored once. Becca Shuler had two assists.

Oley 3, Methacton 1 >> The Warriors trailed 1-0 at halftime and suffered a non-league loss to Oley Wednesday.

Elena Weychert scored for Methacton while Renee Blake tallied the assist. Emily Drake made four saves in goal and and Natalie Drake made five.

GOLF

Methacton 196, Pottsgrove 257 >> Christian Kay shot a match-best 37 and Devin Charles was one stroke behind with a 38 to lead the Warriors to a PAC win.

Matthew Rieger shot a 39 for Methacton while Bobby Klecker shot a 40 and Anthony Feliciano a 42.

Perk Valley 201, Pope John Paul II 204 >> The Golden Panthers lost a close PAC matchup at Raven’s Claw Golf Course Wednesday. 

Jack Brennan led PJP with a three-over 39 while Aidan Canning and Ryan McQuarrie each shot four-over 40.

GIRLS GOLF

Phoenixville 175, Methacton 205 >> Kate and Kayley Roberts shot 36 and 37, respectively, in a PAC win over Methacton.

Kate Thomas shot a team-best 41 for the Warriors.

GIRLS TENNIS

Methacton 6, Upper Dublin 1 >> The Warriors won all three singles matches and three of the four doubles matches in a non-league win over the Cardinals Wednesday.

Lauren Montgomery was dominant in third singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Alice Liang won second singles 6-0, 6-1 while Hana Nouaime took first singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Wissahickon 6, Downingtown East 1 >> The Trojans won all three singles matches and three of the four doubles matches in a non-league win Wednesday.

YiYi Huang won first singles 6-3, 6-0.

CB South 6, CB West 1 >> South won all three singles matches and three of the four doubles matches against West Wednesday.

South’s Grace Piro won first singles 6-0, 6-0, Meghana Reddy took second singles 6-3, 6-2 and Lilly Johannon third singles 6-0, 6-2.

Pope John Paull II 7, Pottsgrove 0 >> The Golden Panthers won all seven matches in a PAC victory over Pottsgrove.

Mia Zernick and Alana Swartz won their singles matches in straight sets while Claire Schiele won 0-6, 6-2, 10-4.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Pope John Paul II 3, Bishop Shanahan 0 >> Hutton Cordrey had 11 kills, 17 digs and eight service points in a sweep over Bishop Shanahan Wednesday.

Grace Cooper added 17 digs and Madison Monahan 12 service points and 28 assists.

Methacton 3, Springfield Delco 1 >> Kayla Ginther lead the Warriors with 12 kills and seven aces in Wednesday’s win.

Makayla Batten added seven kills and two blocks and Rachel Pettine had 32 assists. 

The second set saw Jordan Toth serve 12 straight points to put the game away.

Wissahickon 3, Pottstown 0 >> Wissahickon dominated all three sets, winning 25-2, 25-3, 25-8 in a non-league match against Pottstown.
