Presenting the Daily Local News 2022 all-area boys tennis teams

FIRST TEAM
SINGLES
Justin Xu, Jr., Conestoga — Junior finished third in the Central League tournament, was the fifth-place finisher in the District 1 3A singles championships, and finished fourth in the PIAA 3A state singles tournament.
Andrew Ou, Fr., Unionville — Ou finished in first place in the Ches-Mont American Division singles tournament, qualifying for the District 1 3A singles tournament. Noted for his placement, consistency and quickness on his feet.
Andrew Poprik, Sr., Unionville — Senior finished second in the Ches-Mont American Division singles tournament, then advanced to the second round of the District 1 3A sin-gles tourney. Noted for his power serve and powerful game.
Krish Mendiratta, Jr., Great Valley — Junior finished third in the Ches-Mont American Division singles tour-nament, then advanced to the second round of the District 1 3A singles tourney. Noted for his versatile all-court game and quickness.
Ben Gao, Fr., West Chester East — Freshman finished second in the Ches-Mont National Division singles tournament, then advanced to the second round of the District 1 3A sin-gles tournament. Was noted for his composure on the court.
Mitchell Branlage, Sr., Devon Prep — Senior was Daily Local News Player of the Year in 2021, and this past spring was the Catholic League’s Most Valuable Player for the fourth consecutive year.
Rohan Roa, Fr., Conestoga — Freshman finished fourth in the Central League singles tournament, then advanced to the quarterfinals of the District 1 3A singles tournament.
DOUBLES
Abhiraj Srivastava, Jr.-Abhineet Srivastava. Jr., Downingtown East — Junior duo made it to the championship finals of the PIAA 3A doubles tournament. Was the District 1 3A doubles champions, was the Ches-Mont National Division doubles champion, and was one of the four All-Ches-Mont National Division doubles teams.
Andrew Poprik, Sr.-Andrew Ou, Fr., Unionville — Poprik, a senior, and Ou, a freshman, finished in first place in the Ches-Mont American Division doubles tournament, and advanced to the PIAA 3A state doubles tournament.
Rohan Rao, Fr.-Aaron Sun, Jr., Conestoga — Rao, a freshman, and Sun, a junior, won the Central League doubles title, finished fifth in the District 1 3A doubles tournament, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the PIAA 3A state doubles tourney.
Ben Gao, Fr.-Kyle Finding, Jr., West Chester East — Gao, a freshman, and Finding, a junior, advanced to the quarterfinals of the District 1 3A doubles tournament, and was one of the four All-Ches-Mont National Division doubles teams.
Shrihan Madam, Fr.-Adi Shankar, Sr., Downingtown East — Duo advanced to the quarterfinals of the District 1 3A doubles tourna-ment, placed second in the Ches-Mont National Division doubles tour-nament, and was one of the four All-Ches-Mont National Division doubles teams.
Krish Mendirata, Jr.-Revant Mendiratta, Jr., Great Valley — Junior twin duo placed second in the Ches-Mont American Division doubles tournament, and advanced to the second round of the District 1 3A doubles tournament.
