Highlights: It had been four years since Upper Perkiomen played in a District 1 playoff game, and many more before that since the Indians last won one entering Tuesday’s District 1-2A matchup with Dock Mennonite.
The host Indians made the most out of the opportunity.
MaryKate Sitko maintained her high-scoring posture into the postseason, keying the seventh-seeded Indians’ romp over the 10th-seeded Pioneers on the opening day of the District 1-2A playoffs.
Sitko hit for six goals alongside one assist in helping UP open a 10-2 halftime advantage. Abby Davidheiser chipped in with four goals and on assist of her own.
Upper Perk will travel to second-seeded Strath Haven in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Highlights: The Frontier Division champion Phantoms saw their season end with a loss to No. 12 Penncrest in the District 1-3A first round.
Non-League
Hill School 13, Germantown Friends 7
Highlights: The Blues broke open a 4-4 halftime tie with a big second half. Emma Lewis (assist) and Meg MacMurray both had hat tricks, while Annabella Schafer accounted for six goals (two goals, four assists) and Amelia Nordhoy accounted for four (two goals, two assists). Abby Hicks, Annika Nordhoy and Kerry Elliot added goals, while Piper Schmidt added an assist. Sam Cifra was once again strong in goal with 16 saves.
BASEBALL
Methacton 7, Lansdale Catholic 6
Highlights: Mike Wimmer’s three-run single in the bottom of the seventh ended the Warriors’ season with a walk-off victory Tuesday. Wimmer (double), Nolan McCloskey, Mike Christian and Kross Howarth all had two-hit days. Tyler Lohsen (5 Ks) allowed just one hit and one unearned run in 4.2 innings of relief.
Pottstown 15, Renaissance Acad. 0 (4 inn.)
Highlights: The Trojans used an eight-run fourth inning to finish off their first win of 2022 in four innings. Joe DeLeo allowed just two hits and struck out five in four shutout frames to earn the victory. Gage Colvin went 3-for-4 with three RBI to lead the offensive production. Gabe Hicks also had two hits and drove in two runs.
