Led by outstanding individuals who helped bring their entire teams together, La Salle and North Penn had seasons to remember in 2022.

Both had several selections on this year’s Montco Media All-Area Team.

Seniors Quinn Buck and Tim Grossi, and junior Aidan Schnapf excelled in their events for La Salle and helped power the Explorers to a State Runner-Up finish at the PIAA-3A Championships.

Buck was a bronze medalist in the 50 free, Grossi a bronze medalist in the 100 fly, and Schnapf surged to sixth in the state in the 100 back.

La Salle was also fortified by two outstanding relays.

The 200 medley relay of Noah Lubinski, Gavin Brooke, Grossi and Andrew Acker raced to fourth in the state.

The 200 free relay squad of Buck, Brooke, Acker and Grossi wore the bronze medals out at Bucknell.

North Penn rose to the top spot in District One and also put together a tremendous performance out at Bucknell University.

North Penn’s Aidan Faikish was a driving force for the Knights. Kev Hunter, MediaNews.

The Knights were led by Danny Dunigan in the 500 free (fifth in the state), Aidan Faikish in the 200 IM (sixth in the state) and Mason Potts in the 200 free (eighth in the state).

North Penn always capped things off with a sensational 400 free relay, with the foursome of Potts, Faikish, Bobby Freece and Scott Klein capturing the silver medal at PIAA’s.

Abington’s Conor Gesing won state gold to finish off his stellar career for the Ghosts. Kev Hunter, MediaNews.

Abington diver Conor Gesing finished off an outstanding high school career with the state gold medal and a lofty score of 559.40 up on the board.

Souderton Area’s Robbie Ferlick was a driving force all year for Big Red and pushed to 13th in the state in the 100 free.

David Ji came on strong in the 100 breast for Hatboro-Horsham and was a bronze medalist at PIAA’s.
