Upper Merion 7, Pope John Paul II 6 >> Julianna Callison scored four goals and added two assists in the Vikings PAC win Thursday. Olivia smith and Sam Walmsley each added a goal and an assists for Upper Merion while goalie Avery Fox made four saves. Ava Zepp led PJP with four goals.

Archbishop Carroll 28, Lansdale Catholic 2 >> The Patriots cruised to a PCL win Thursday, scoring 21 goals in the first half. Twenty-two different Patriots scored in the win.

Boys Lacrosse

Pennridge 11, Neshaminy 8 >> Ryan Carickhoff scored four goals in the Rams SOL win Thursday. Luke Lenox and Drew Ferguson each added two scores.

North Penn 7, Holy Ghost Prep 6 >> Connor Toussaint scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Knights to a win Thursday. Caiden Myers added one goal and one assist while Matt Kuhn made 16 saves and Will Morrow won 15 of 16 faceoffs.

Lansdale Catholic 13, Conwell-Egan 1 >> Connor Mann had five goals and two assists while Pat McKeever and Mikey Kleinert both finished with two goals and goals assists as Lansdale Catholic cruised to a PCL victory

Patch Flannery scored twice, goalie Jack Kennedy made 10 saves and Dan Curran was 12-of-16 on faceoffs for the Crusaders (9-1, 7-1 league). Colin Corbett had a goal and an assist, Pat Cooney had a goal while Gavin Selchert collected an assist.

Perk Valley 13, Pope John Paul II 4 >> Eric Zadroga scored two goals in the Golden Panthers PAC loss Thursday.

Baseball

Upper Moreland 3, Plymouth Whitemarsh 2 >> Sean Dallahan walked in the bottom of the seventh inning, advanced to second on a balk and scored the game-winning run on a Kaleb Powell grounder up the middle.

Jimmy Torpey earned the win, throwing a complete game while allowing two runs, one earned. Torpey scattered six hits with six strikeouts and no walks.

Pat Kilgus and Dallahan each had a hit and reached base multiple times for UM. Shawn Townsend contributed a sacrifice fly and walked once. Nate O’Connor also reached base twice, on a walk and catcher’s interference.

Souderton 15, Council Rock South 5 >> Kaden Pasternak went 4-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Indians to an SOL crossover win Thursday.

Carter Jagiela went 3-for-3 while Shanley Wall and Luke Pollock each had two hits.

Pennridge 4, Bensalem 1 >> Aidan Fretz and Ryan Hass each had two hits and Pennridge held off Bensalem in the SOL crossover to claim its second straight victory.

Hass went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored while Fretz was 2-for-2 and earned the win pitching the first five innings, allowing one run – earned – on three hits. He walked four and struck out five.

The Rams (5-5, 3-5 SOL Colonial) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth as Hass hit an RBI single then scored on an error on Ashton McCloskey’s grounder.

Bensalem (6-7, 4-6 SOL Patriot) pulled to within 2-1 in the top of the sixth on a RBI single from Nate Rice, who finished 2-for-4. Pennridge, however, answered with two runs in its half of the frame on back-to-back two-out RBI  singles from Hass and McCloskey.

Abington 12, William Tennent 2 >> Matt Worek was 3-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored while Anthony Ehly, Luke Sydlowski and Chase Goodson all had two RBIs as Abington rolled to its fifth win in a row.

Colin Hamsher went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored with Ehly also scoring three runs for the Galloping Ghosts (7-4, 5-4 SOL Liberty).

Abington went out to a 5-0 lead after a run in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth before William Tennent plated a run in the bottom of the fourth.

The Ghosts pushed their advantage to 9-1 with four runs in the fifth on an Ehly two-RBI double, an Alex Dardaris RBI single and Jared Biletz scoring on an error.

Wissahickon 10, New Hope-Solebury 4 >> Up 6-2 after four innings, Wissahickon pushed its lead to eight with a four-run bottom of the fifth and went on to earn its second straight victory.

Blake McClintic was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored for the Trojans (6-5, 6-3 SOL Liberty), who have won five of their last six. Jack O’Donnell went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored while Kasey Weiss had a double, three RBIs and two runs scored

Josh Palutis finished 2-for-3 and scored twice for Wiss. Morgan Wilson was 2-for-4 and Justin Miller had two runs scored.

Softball

Plymouth Whitemarsh 10, Upper Moreland 8 >> Lauryn Kane gave the Colonials the lead with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning in their SOL crossover win Thursday. Later in the sixth inning, Kalina Childers homered to give PW a 10-6 lead.

Marissa Perez tallied three hits for the Colonials, who totaled 16 hits in the win.

Erin Shaffert led the Golden Bears with two hits. She scored a run and knocked one in.

North Penn 16, Council Rock North 1 >> It was a big day for Bri Wilmot, who went 3-for-3 with six RBIs and hit one of North Penn’s three home runs as Knights stayed undefeated with a five-inning SOL crossover win.

Hannah Cohen and Lexi Nyce also homered for North Penn (12-0, 9-0 SOL Colonial) while Cohen finished 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. Annabelle Smink was 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored twice with Julia Shearer going 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored.

Sophia Collins and Reyna Doherty each were 2-for-4 with Collins and Mackenzie Gizankis both scored two runs.

Wilmot’s RBI single in the first made it 2-0 then hit a three-run home run in the second for a 5-0 lead. Cohen’s two-run homer in the third had NP up 7-0 while a Wilmot two-RBI double in the fourth had the Knights leading 9-0.

Nyce made it 16-0 by connected on a three-run homer in the fifth.

Upper Dublin 19, Cheltenham 0 >> The Cardinals cruised to a three-inning SOL crossover win Thursday. Chloe Foster struck out seven batters in three two-hit innings. Madden Reilly went 2-for-2 with a triple and four RBI while Laitlyn Zacharia was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

William Tennent 13, Abington 3 >> Anna Coulter, Gigi DeMito and Casey Yacovelli each hit a home run as William Tennent scored the first 13 runs in rolling to a five-inning SOL crossover win.

Coulter also doubled in going 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two run scored, DeMito went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored while Yacovelli was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and scored twice for the Panthers (6-3, 6-2 SOL Freedom), who ended a two-game skid.

Vicky Colagreco finished 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Tennent. Olivia Clee went 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored while Morgan Kocher was 2-for-4 with a run scored

DeMito made it 2-0 with a two-run homer in the first while Yacovelli followed with a solo shot on the next at-bat. Coulter connected on a three-run home run in the second for a 6-0 lead. Tennent scored a run in the third then plated six more in the fourth.

Abington (5-6, 4-6 SOL Liberty) scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the fourth, the last two on Sydney Steiner’s two-RBI double.

Boys Volleyball

Dock Mennonite 3, Avon Grove 0 >> The Pioneers clinched a Independent League championship with a sweep over Avon Grove Thursday. Dock totaled 38 kills, eight aces, 35 digs and five stuff blocks.

Pennridge 3, Central Bucks West 2 >> Tyler Johnson had 18 kills on a .500 hitting percentage and also made six blocks, Jude Rotondo finished with 16 kills, eight digs and three aces and Pennridge topped Central Bucks West in five sets 17-25, 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 16-14 for an SOL American victory.

Nick Smith had 10 kills and five blocks while Thomas McKenney collected five kills and 16 digs for the Rams (9-1, 9-1 conference). Alex Derk finished with 19 digs and two aces, Riley Kodidek totaled 10 digs and three blocks while Bryce Ammon had five kills, four blocks and three aces.
