Boys Basketball

Dock Mennonite 64, Collegium Charter 48 >> Dock Mennonite built a 36-19 halftime lead and extended the advantage to 25 by the end of the third quarter as the hosts Pioneers won Thursday night’s matchup  between the last two teams unbeaten in Bicentennial Athletic League play

Nathan Lapp scored 24 points for Dock (18-3, 13-0 BAL Independence), who won their fourth straight. Hoy Bultje added 12 points while Tony Martin finished with 10 points.

Collegium Charter (15-2, 11-1 BAL Independence) had won 13 straight coming into the contest.

Wissahickon 48, William Tennent 43 >> Wissahickon got its offense going in the second half to claim a fourth consecutive win in the SOL crossover.

Earl Stout scored 16 of his 19 points after the break while Dom Vacchiano had 10 of his 15 points following intermission for the Trojans (13-6, 10-3 SOL Liberty). Josh Twersky tallied seven of his eight points in the second half.

Upper Merion 55, Upper Perkiomen 44 >> After trading big quarters to end the first half even at 24, Upper Merion took the third 17-11 and held on for a PAC Frontier Division victory.

Ty Jones led all scorers with 17 points while Kalil Lawson finished with 13 points for the Vikings (10-8, 8-5 PAC, 8-2 division), who have won two straight and four of their last five.

Upper Perkiomen led 18-4 at the end of the first quarter but UM outscored the Indians 20-6 over the next eight minutes to knot things going into halftime.

Nick Aron, Kyle Clancy and Dan Carpenter all scored 12 points for Upper Perk (3-18, 2-11, 2-8).

Central Bucks East 64, Pennridge 57 >> Central Bucks East’s Jacob Cummiskey scored 15 of his game-high 19 points after halftime – 11 coming in the third – as the visiting Patriots topped Pennridge for an SOL Colonial victory.

Xavier Peters led the Rams (5-14, 3-10 division) with 15 points while Matt Campione and Jude D’Agostino had 14 and 12 points, respectively. Aidan Weaver chipped in eight points and five rebounds for East (12-7, 8-5), which won its second straight.

Methacton 54, Perkiomen Valley 36 >> Cole Hargrove scored 14 points as Methacton bounced back for its first loss by rolling past Perkiomen Valley.

Brett Byrne had 11 points for the Warriors (19-1, 12-1 PAC, 9-1 PAC Liberty), who led 21-13 at halftime then registered 21 points in the third to take a 42-28 lead. Anthony Daddazio and Colin Meyer both added nine points.

Julian Sadler’s 14 points led Perk Valley (14-7, 10-3, 7-3).

Norristown 49, Boyertown 48 >> DJ Johnson had 21 points as Norristown edged host Boyertown for a third straight win.

John DiNolfi added 12 points for the Eagles (15-6, 8-4 PAC, 5-4 PAC Liberty). Jake Kapp hit four 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 24 points for Boyertown (9-11, 4-9, 2-8).

Pope John Paul II 48, Pottsgrove 36 >> Jaden Workman collected 16 points as Pope John Paul II led 27-13 at halftime and went on to earn a PAC Frontier victory.

JP Baron and Kevin Green both scored 14 points for the Golden Panthers (12-7, 8-5 PAC, 8-2 division). Gabe Rinda had 13 points for Pottsgrove (7-13, 2-10, 2-7) while Nadhir Ward added 10 points.

Phil-Mont Christian 47, Jenkintown 45 >> David Olinger scored 17 points and Phil-Mont Christian rallied from a 39-29 deficit at the end of the third to win the BAL contest.

Thomas DeHeer had 10 points for the Falcons (12-6, 9-3 BAL Constitution). Jenkintown’s Jake Hilton hit four 3-pointers in tallying a game-high 19 points while Tommy Walsh added 17 points for the Drakes (4-12, 4-7 BAL Presidents).

Girls Basketball

Upper Moreland 53, Jenkintown 33 >> Jenkintown senior Katie McGrath, a Muhlenberg commit, scored her 1,000th career point but Upper Moreland was too much for the Drakes in the nonleague contest.

The Golden Bears (13-4, 10-3 SOL Freedom) earned their fourth straight victory while Jenkintown (12-6) had its five-game win streak stopped.

Perkiomen Valley 41, Methacton 38 >>  Perkiomen Valley’s Jennifer Beattie led all scorers with 12 points as the Vikings stopped Methacton’s win streak at 15.

Nicole Timko finished with 10 points for the Warriors (17-2, 12-1 PAC, 9-1 PAC Liberty). Cassidy Kropp chipped in nine points while Mairi Smith had eight points and eight rebounds.

Quinn Boettinger scored 10 points for Perk Valley (16-3, 10-2, 8-2), which won its eighth in a row.

Archbishop Carroll 53, Neumann-Goretti 46 >> Archbishop Carroll trailed by a point after three quarters but Brooke Wilson collected eight points as the Patriots outscored visiting Neumann-Goretti 18-10 in the fourth to stay perfect in the Philadelphia Catholic League.

Taylor Wilson scored 17 of her game-high 26 points in the first half while Brooke Wilson finished with 14 points for Carroll (15-4, 8-0 league). Grace O’Neill had 13 points, hitting four free throws in the game’s final minute.

The Saints (6-6, 3-2) were led by Brooke Barnes’ 14 points. Amirah Hackney had 12 points while Mihjae Hayes recorded 11 points.

Pope John Paul II 50, Pottsgrove 20 >> Pope John Paul II led 40-10 at halftime as it cruised to a third win a row.

Amelia Kennedy scored a game-high 17 points for the Golden Panthers (10-8, 10-3 PAC, 9-1 PAC Frontier). Bella Tammaro totaled 13 points with Katie Nilles added 10 points.

Aaliyah Freeman had 12 points for Pottsgrove (0-16, 0-11, 0-9).

Nazareth Academy 62, ANC 61 >> Xola Wade had 18 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block as the Academy of the New Church was edged by Nazareth Academy in their nonleague contest.

Omega Wade finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and one steal for ANC.

Girls Swimming

Wissahickon 104, Upper Merion 66 >>  Bernice Fu swam personal-bests in winning both the 100 free and 200 individual medley – posting a District 1-3A consideration time in the later – as Wissahickon claimed a Senior Night victory.

Ava Walters and Sarah Pickel went 1-2 in the 200 free for the Trojans with personal-best times while Walters won the 100 fly with a personal best. Pickel was first in the 500 free with a personal best effort while teammate Maddie Johnson was second in a race decided by two tenths of a second.

Wissahickon’s Regan Santoro won diving while the Trojans had the top three finishes in the 100 back – Rachel Le first with a personal best, Fernanda Oguiwara second and Abby Cooley third with a season best time.

Fu, Pickel, Johnson and Walters teamed up to swim for a season-best time in the 200 medley relay.

Methacton 104, Boyer town 71 >> Truly Sommer and Madison Wimmer each won two events and also swam on Methacton’s first-place 200 medley relay as the Warriors earned a victory over Boyertown.

Sommer won the 200 individual medley (2:20.93) and 500 free (5:29.35) while Wimmer was first in the 50 free (25.62) and 100 fly (1:04.96).

Boys Swimming

Methacton 93, Boyertown 45 >> Eric Zang won the 50 free in 24.17 and also was a part of Methacton’s victories in the 200 medley (1:48.62) and 200 free (1:44.13) relays as the Warriors bested Boyertown.

Dylan Phan won the 100 free (53.33) while John Du was first in the 200 free (2:04.66) for Methacton. Tommy Gibbs finished first in the 100 fly (51.65) with Christopher Groff winning the 200 individual medley in 2:05.09.
