Delco Roundup: Relay prowess leads Interboro past Chichester

Marin Daniels, Melyssa Boyer-Fernandez, Alex Mireider and Maryanna Nagle won three events each to help Interboro to a 69-57 win over Chichester in a girls swimming meet Wednesday.

Daniels finished first in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Boyer-Fernandez won the 100 free and participated in the winning 200 medley relay and 400 free relays. Mireider swam in both winning relays and claimed victory in the 500 free. Nagle triumphed in diving and in two winning relays.

Erin O’Shea took first place in the 100 butterfly for the Bucs.

Kayla Frantz (50 free, 100 breaststroke, 200 free relay) was a triple winner for the Eagles.

Boys Swimming

Anthony Ricco and Luke Schealer racked up four wins apeice as Chichester rolled to a 93-49 decision over Interboro in Del Val League action.

Ricco led off the Eagles’ winning 200 medley relay before taking first place in the 100 free, 200 free relay and 100 breaststroke. Schealer participated in both relay wins, while also taking home victories in diving and the 100 backstroke.

Daniel Jessup (200 MR, 50 free, 200 free relay) and Liam Campbell (200 free).

For the Bucs, Mason McCoy was victorious in the 200 individual medley, 500 free and 400 free relay.

Boys Basketball

Larenzo Jerkins posted a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds, but Chester came up just short in the fourth quarter of a 67-63 loss to Reading.

Kyree Womack added 12 points, and Kevin Rucker scored 11 for the Clippers (4-2), who won a double-overtime game against Penn Wood on Tuesday.

Ruben Rodriguez led Reading with 20 points.
