Delco Schools Roundup: Lunn a double-winner as Episcopal edges Penn Charter

Emma Lunn won two events to pace Episcopal Academy to a 93-90 victory over Penn Charter in Inter-Ac League girls swimming action on Tuesday.

Lunn won the 100 and 200 freestyle. Lauren Stasse captured the diving and Kelly Feuzeu Mekoue took first in the 50 free.

Boys Swimming

Henry Haupt and Jake Shaud won one individual event and participated on a winning relay to help Episcopal Academy top Penn Charter, 107-78 in the Inter-Ac League.

Haupt touched the wall first in the 200 individual medley and anchored the 400 freestyle relay team to victory. Shaud won the 100 back and also was on the 400 free relay. Owen McCabe took first in diving for the Churchmen.


Andrew Lyons, Daniel Kaiser and Bill Brosko racked up pins but it wasn’t enough as Haverford School dropped a 39-36 nonleague decision to Peddie School. Lyons won by fall at 160, Kaiser at 182 and Brosko at 285.

Boys Hockey

Jagur McClellan collected two goals and four assists and Jai Jani stopped 13 of the 14 shots he faced as Haverford topped Penncrest, 7-1, Monday night. Quinn Carson added two goals and Ryan McGlade one goal and two assists for the Fords.

Tyler Conn scored the lone goal for the Lions.

Radnor 7, Ridley 2 >> Andrew Knight scored twice and assisted on another goal for the Raptors. Colin French, Robert Toomey and Tucker Graham had a goal and assist each.

Colin Huppman led the Green Raiders with one goal and one assist.

Salesianum 4, Cardinal O’Hara 2 >> Christopher Albert and Christian Kinsler scored in the third period to win it for the Sallies. Angelo Filoramo and Nathan Fox had one goal each for the Lions.

Marple Newtown 6, Archbishop Ryan 1 >> Ethan McKay and Sam Caroluzzi found the back of the net twice to pace the Tigers. Zachery Dembzynski handed out three assists, and Dillon Haslett and Colin Scott added one goal each, while goalie A.J. Tedesco made 17 saves.

Girls Hockey

Annie Dignazio collected five goals and one assist as PennHaven rolled over Downington West, 12-4, on Monday night.

Annika Sullivan also finished with six points on two goals and four assists. Bonnie Mundy, Baily Keeley and Kaila Booth pitched in with one goal and one assist each.
