2021 Daily Local News All-Area Boys Cross Country Teams
FIRST TEAM
Brendan Flynn, senior, Downingtown East – Flynn finished first in the Ches-Mont Championships, placed eighth at Districts and was 24th at States. Along with Daily Local News Boys’ Cross Country Runner of the Year Caiden Leen, Flynn’s high finish at the PIAA 3A state meet helped D-East finish third at States.
Aryan Abbaraju, junior, Unionville – Abbaraju finished second at the Ches-Mont Championships, was 18th at Districts and finished 17th at the PIAA 3A state meet. Was a first team All-Ches-Mont League cross country runner.
Gavin Brophy, senior, West Chester Henderson – Brophy finished fourth at the Ches-Mont Championships, was 14th at the PIAA District 1 3A championships and placed 55th at the PIAA 3A state meet. Was a first team All-Ches-Mont cross country runner.
Chris Walsh, Downingtown East
Chris Walsh, senior, Downingtown East – A first team All-Ches-Mont League cross country runner, Walsh finished 30th at the PIAA District 1 3A championships, and placed 52nd at the PIAA 3A state meet, helping the Cougars to finish third as a team in States.
Connor Britton, sophomore, Avon Grove – A first team All-Ches-Mont League cross country runner, Britton finished 33rd at the PIAA District 1 3A championships, then placed 47th at the PIAA 3A state championships.
