
CJ Wood recorded a pin in 11 seconds at 152 pounds during Garnet Valley’s 66-6 Central League wrestling decision over Lower Merion.
The Jags made very quick work of the Aces. Sam DiTrolio (215), Mason Troy (120), Shane Olinger (160) and Jared Park (172) also recorded wins by fall in 40 seconds or less. DiTrolio’s pin came in 13 seconds, Troy in 14 seconds, Park in 33 seconds and Olinger in 40.
Ethan Bliss (113), Matt Ricci (113) and Nicholas Mahoney (285) also won by fall for the Jags.
In nonleague action:
Upper Darby splits >> Darlington Yeah and Julien Laventure both won twice as Upper Darby downed Bensalem (45-17) and fell to Henderson (50-12).
Yeah won twice by fall at 189 pounds. Laventure had a pin against Bensalem and a 4-2 victory versus Henderson at 285.
Jacob Senkow (215), Nathan O’Donnell (120) and Rizve Likhon (126) won by fall against Bensalem. Samuel Kimmel scored a 3-2 win at 132 against Henderson.
Boys Basketball
Mike O’Donnell, Mike Hoey and Colin Treude all scored 12 points in Springfield’s 50-39 victory over Strath Haven in Central League boys basketball action Tuesday.
The Cougars’ defense set the tone early, limiting Strath Haven to three points in the first quarter. Aiden Kreydt and Ryan Johnston each grabbed eight rebounds in the win.
Jaden Jaurequi poured in a game-high 16 points for the Panthers. Jack Edwards sank three 3-pointers and finished with 13 points.
Garnet Valley 63, Upper Darby 59 >> Max Koehler compiled 24 points, eight assists and two steals for the Jaguars in their win over the Royals Tuesday. Koehler also went a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Ryan Wootten (13 points) made three of GV’s nine 3-pointers and Logan McKee managed a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
UD connected for 11 triples, including six from Nadir Myers, who netted a game-high 26 points. Emij Branch drilled four 3s for 12 points for the Royals.
Boys Hockey
Ridley’s Anthony Putter had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 loss to Downingtown West.
Connor Gluck also tallied for the Green Raiders, while goalie Katie O’Brien made 26 saves.
Edward Gustin registered two goals and two assists for the Cougars.
Rustin 7, Penncrest 0 >> The Lions had no answer for forward Gavin Dempsey, who recorded a hat trick and an assist. Aiden Harris added a goal and three helpers.
