
Garnet Valley sophomore Emily Olsen totaled 18 points, seven rebounds and four steals in a 68-30 Central League win at Upper Darby Tuesday.
Haylie Adamski tallied 16 points, five steals and two assists for the Jaguars, who outscored the Royals, 29-12, in the second half. Ava Possenti scored nine points and had a spectacular defensive game with nine steals for the Jags. Kylie Mulholland contributed 11 points, three steals and two assists for GV.
Aubrey Ennis had a team-high 13 points for Upper Darby.
In other Central League games:
Springfield 43, Strath Haven 35 >> Lexi Aaron and Mia Valerio paced the Cougars to the road win with 11 points each. Springfield jumped out to a 24-8 lead after two periods.
Rose Henry netted a game-high 19 points for the Panthers.
Haverford 54, Ridley 32 >> Caroline Dotsey dropped in a game-high 19 points to power the Fords, who led 25-8 at intermission. Sky Newman and Mollie Carpenter added eight points apiece.
Peyton Berger led the Green Raiders with 11 points.
Marple Newtown 51, Radnor 37 >> Haley Levy tossed in a game-high 15 points for the Tigers. Mary O’Brien and Nikki Mostardi netted 12 points each.
Mary Sareen led the Raptors with 13 points.
In the Ches-Mont League:
Sun Valley 55, Oxford 41 >> Aliceia Whitfield poured in 18 points to go with three assists and three steals as the Vanguards (3-3, 1-1) evened their overall and league records.
Brielle Wright produced 14 points and Jaina Preuhs racked up 13 points and seven boards. SV shot 11-for-16 from the foul line in the final quarter to seal the victory.
Episcopal Academy 59, Abington Friends 31 >> A balanced offense propelled the Churchwomen to a lopsided win.
Gaeli Keffer-Scharpf scored all of her team-leading nine points in the first quarter.
The Churchwomen, who held an 18-1 lead after eight minutes, also received contributions from Amanda Purcell and Riley Thibodeau, each of whom had eight points. Riley Cassidy chipped in with seven points.
Cardinal O’Hara 64, Audenreid 28 >> Maggie Doogan, the reigning Daily Times Player of the Year, was one of four Lions in double figures with a game-high 16 points. Sydni Scott, who made three 3-pointers, and Annie Welde added 11 points each. Freshman Molly Rullo notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
It was the second win in as many nights for O’Hara. The Lions beat Conestoga Monday night, 51-27. O’Hara used a 35-0 run in the first half to take a 41-10 lead into halftime. Rullo led O’Hara with 12 points and sophomore Carly Coleman had 10.
Pottstown 39, Interboro 35 >> The Bucs (0-5) struggled to make shots from the free-throw line (0-for-10) and beyond the arc (1-for-18) in a loss Monday.
Freshman Grace Bright had a strong game for Interboro with 16 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot.
Sophomore Alaina D’Angelo contributed seven points and sophomore Gianna Munro had four points, four assists and five steals in the Bucs’ defeat.
Girls Swimming
Mallorie Jeremiah, Zoey Rogers and Peyton Goetz each won three races as Garnet Valley downed Ridley, 111-70, in Central League action.
Jeremiah was first in the 200 free and 500 free and was a member of the Jaguars’ winning medley relay. Rogers took first place in the individual medley, butterfly and 200 free relay. Goetz was victorious in the 50 free and 100 free and helped the 200 free relay finish in first place.
Hallie Milligan won the backstroke and Kaitlyn Stankavage bested the competition in the breaststroke for GV.
Springfield 119, Upper Darby 57 >> Ayva Christie won the IM, backstroke and medley relay for the Cougars. Elise Olmstead won the diving competition and helped the Royals’ 200 free relay win in 1:52.94.
Boys Swimming
Michael Huegel and Jacob Johnson were quadruple winners in Springfield’s 112-64 win over Upper Darby in a Central League meet.
Johnson participated in the Cougars’ winning medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. In individual competition, Johnson claimed first place in the 100 free in 50.59.
Huegel anchored the 200 free relay and swam third in the 400 free relay, and finished first in the individual medley and butterfly.
Also for Springfield, Jake Kennedy led off both free relays and placed first in the 50 free in 21.74.
Connor Hunt (200 free, backstroke) was a double winner for the Royals
Ridley 97, Garnet Valley 81 >> Matt Murdock came away with wins in the medley relay, IM, butterfly and 200 free relay for the Green Raiders. Eric Boeckx (200 free, 200 free relay, breaststroke) and Shane Eckler (medley relay, 100 free, 200 free relay) were triple winners.
Brandon Weaver (50 free, 400 free relay) and Lukas Olsen (500 free, 400 free relay) were double winners for the Jaguars.
Girls Hockey
Sophie Grant scored both Penncrest-Strath Haven goals in a 2-0 decision over Northeastern Monday.
Olivia Jacobi earned the shutout in goal with 48 saves.
Boys Hockey
Andrew Pisano recorded two goals and one assist in Conestoga’s 4-0 ICSHL Central win over Penncrest Monday.
Dominic Mascieri added a goal and an assist for the Pioneers. Goalie Fiona Walker made 31 saves for the Lions.
