Springfield 2, Upper Dublin 1 OT >> Springfield beat crosstown rival in a very tightly contested game on Friday. The Spartans struck in the first quarter on a goal from Annie Coll with Hailey Lesniak assisting. Upper Dublin tied it up in the third. Lesniak got the game-winner in OT with Coll getting the assist this time. Goalie Erin Roy kept the Spartans alive in the game with nine saves.
PW 1, Cheltenham 0 >> Sophomore Caelin Kosvitch scored the lone goal of the game, on a great shot from distance as the Colonials bounced back from a midweek loss to Wissahickon. Sophomore goalie Caitlyn Dinh made several saves to earn her first shutout of the season. Defenders Libby Daddonna, Katie Lukens, Brianna Reynolds, Meghan Wendler and Lauren Ianniello all contributed to the clean sheet. PW hosts Calvary Christian in a nonleague game on Monday.
PJP II 2, Pottsgrove 1 >> Cate Mink scored two goals as the Golden Panthers picked up the PAC win on Monday.
Carroll 5, Prendie 0 >> Carroll improved to 6-3 and 3-0 in the PCL with the win on Friday. Carroll got two goals from Sienna Golden and one by Cate McConaghy to take a 3-0 halftime lead. Lydia Malone and Laura Wineberg added one goal each in the second half to complete the scoring. Reilly McMenamin got the shutout and stopped five shots.
ANC 4, Dock 1 >> Haley Harper made eight saves in net, but it wasn’t enough for Dock on Friday in a nonconference tilt. Erin Miles scored the lone Pioneers’ goal in the fourth quarter off an assist from Tiffany Oponski.
Girls soccer
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Upper Moreland 0 >> The Hatters jumped out quickly, scoring all three goals in the first half on Friday. Mia Malofiy and Christina Bender scored for the Hatters.
GMA 5, St. Hubert Academy 3 >> The Monarchs outshot St. Hubert 25-9 in controlling the contest on Friday. Scoring goals were Caroline Drakeley, Keira Cassidy, Sabrina Beniquez and Alexandra Berish.
Abington 3, Lower Moreland 0 >> Maura Day scored a goal and added two assists as the Ghosts were impressive on Friday. Also scoring for Abington were Mei Mei Cheng and Carley Slavin.
CR North 3, Souderton 0 >> Senior goalie Ashlyn Odenwald kept CR North at bay for a half, but Souderton couldn’t find enough offense on Friday.
Boys Soccer
Upper Perk 2, Upper Merion 1 >> Arjun Kaushik scored for the Vikings, but Upper Perk rallied for the PAC win on Friday.
Wissahickon 3, Tennent 2 >> The Trojans rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to pull out the win on Friday. Phil Diyas scored twice to tie the game up and Andrew Slackman got the gamewinner in the 79th minute. Slackman, Ethan Pigeon and Julian Memis also picked up assists.
Hatboro-Horsham 2, Upper Moreland 0 >> Nick Katherine and Ryan Toporowski scored in the first five minutes of the second half to lift the Hatters to the win on Friday. Noah Schlosser got his fifth shutout of the season for Hatboro-Horsham (5-1, 4-1) with four saves.
Girls volleyball
Methacton 3, Norristown 0 >> The Warriors won the PAC match on Friday 25-3, 25-12 and 25-16.
CR North 3, Hatboro-Horsham 0 >> The Hatters dropped the marathon of a match on Friday 25-19, 30-28 and 25-23. The Hatters were led offensively by junior outsider hitter Kayla Jones with 12 kills, senior Nastya Tsetsko with 10, junior middle hitter Jade Lauzier with six and senior middle hitter Izzy Bombas with five. Junior Jade Lauzier also added three blocks at net.
Golf
Springfield 211, New Hope 216 >> Ethan Shore carded a 39 as the Spartans picked up a win at Melrose on Monday. Max May also chipped in with 40 for Springfield.
