Presenting the 2021 All-Main Line girls lacrosse teams

Several Main Line high school girls’ lacrosse squads enjoyed particularly memorable seasons this past spring.
Radnor (21-2) captured the PIAA 3A state title, and Conestoga reached the PIAA 3A state semifinals before losing to Radnor.
Archbishop Carroll (20-4) won the PIAA 2A state championship, and Villa Maria Academy (17-7) advanced to the PIAA 2A state quarterfinals before losing to Carroll.
Agnes Irwin posted a 16-4 record, and won the Inter-Ac tournament championship, while Episcopal Academy reached the tourney semifinals. Barrack Hebrew Academy won the Tri-County League title.
The All-Main Line high school girls’ lacrosse teams are selected by the coaches. Because Main Line Media News covers 19 high schools, the Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of sports available to first team, second team and honorable mention – but follows the priority of the coaches’ selections.
What follows are the 2021 All-Main Line high school girls’ lacrosse teams:

FIRST TEAM
Dani Falcone, Academy of Notre Dame – Senior midfielder, a first team All-Inter-Ac selection, as well as PASLA Student Athlete of the Year and a member of the PASLA All- Academic Team, scored 63 goals, won 51 draw controls and dished out a dozen assists.
Brynn Ammerman, Agnes Irwin – Senior attack was All-American, a first team All-Inter-Ac selection and the Owls’ MVP. Dished out 53 assists and scored 40 goals last spring. Will play lacrosse for Ohio State University next spring.
Sydney Wilson, Agnes Irwin – Junior midfielder, an All-American and first team All-Inter-Ac selection, was a potent scorer for the powerful Owls, tallying 54 goals and dishing out 29 assists. Committed to University of Florida for lacrosse
Carly Wilson, Agnes Irwin – Junior midfielder was a first team All-Inter-Ac selection and an All-American. Scored 54 goals last spring and won a team-high 84 draw controls for the Owls. Also committed to University of Florida for lacrosse.
Keri Barnett, Archbishop Carroll – Senior midfielder, an Under Armour All American, was noted for her durability (played every minute), her skill at the draw control, and her penchant for scoring against the toughest opponents. Will play lacrosse for West Chester University.
Julia Basciano, Archbishop Carroll – Senior midfielder/attack and captain was noted for her speed, advanced stick skills and leadership in transition. Scored 73 percent of the time in free position. Will play for Syracuse University next spring.
Karli Dougherty, Archbishop Carroll – Senior defender and captain, an All-Catholic selection, led the Patriots in ground balls and takeaways. Was the quarterback of a Carroll defense that allowed the fewest goals in program history. Will play for Drexel University next spring.
Rachel Clark, Conestoga – Senior attack and captain was an All-American and the Central League’s Most Valuable Player. Scored 90 goals and won 107 draw controls this spring. Conestoga head coach Amy Orcutt said, “She has an incredibly quick first step and her ability to change direction on point makes her difficult to defend. Rachel’s quick hands, quick release and insanely accurate shot make it hard for any goalie to see the ball coming out of her stick.” Will play for the University of Virginia next spring.
Kate Galica, Conestoga – Sophomore midfielder, a first team All-Central League selection and first team All-American, was a potent all-around performer for the PIAA 3A state semifinalists, scoring 76 goals, winning 111 draw controls causing 50 enemy turnovers, collecting 52 ground balls and dishing out 20 assists.
Megan Marengo, Conestoga – Senior midfielder and captain, a first team All-Central League selection and a first team All-American as well as Academic All-American, was a potent force for the PIAA 3A state semifinalists, providing solid scoring (18 goals) as well as tough defense for the Pioneers this spring. Will be playing for the U.S. Naval Academy next spring.
Sarah Groark, Episcopal Academy – Senior attack and captain, a USL All-American, USL All-Academic, and first team All-Inter-Ac selection, scored 65 goals, won 38 draw controls, caused 10 opposition turnovers and was the Churchwomens’ Most Valuable Player.
Alexa Capozzoli, Episcopal Academy – Junior attack was a USL All-American, USL All-Academic, and first team All-Inter-Ac selection. Saint Joseph’s University commit scored 58 goals, dished out 32 assists, won two dozen draw controls and caused a dozen enemy turnovers.
Emma Rowland, Haverford High – Junior midfielder, a first team All-Central League selection, displayed a variety of skills for the solid Ford squad, scoring 44 goals, winning 72 draw controls, and collecting 33 ground balls. The Old Dominion commit is a member of PASLA All-Academic team.
Brynn Donnelly, Merion Mercy Academy – Junior midfielder was Most Valuable Player of a solid (9-7) Golden Bears squad, and an AACA all-star. An all-around performer who tallied 47 goals, 28 assists, 82 draw controls won, 54 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers.
Margaret Mooney, Radnor – Senior midfielder and captain, an All-American and a first team All-Central League selection, contributed in a multitude of ways to Radnor’s PIAA 3A state title (37 goals, 20 assists, 105 draw controls, 31 ground balls, 13 caused turnovers). Will play for William & Mary next spring.
Tori DiCarlo, Radnor – Senior midfielder, an All-American, Academic All-American and a first team All-Central League selection, displayed a wide range of skills for the PIAA 3A state champions (46 goals, 30 assists, 68 draw controls, 26 ground balls, 12 caused turnovers). Will play for the U.S. Naval Academy next spring.
Cierra Hopson, Radnor – Senior attack and captain, an All-American, Academic All-American and a first team All-Central League selection, was a key reason Radnor captured the PIAA 3A state title. Not only a prolific scorer (41 goals, 36 assists) but also a tough defender (32 ground balls, 14 caused turnovers). Will play for Elon University next spring.
Kate Bergen, Shipley – Senior midfielder, a first team All-Friends’ Schools League selection, was MVP of a fine Gators (10-5) squad, scoring 79 goals, dishing out 28 assists, winning 65 draw controls, causing 16 turnovers and collecting 42 ground balls. Will play for Fairfield University next spring.
Margie Carden, Villa Maria Academy – Senior attack was the AACA’s Most Valuable Player and an Academic All-American. Was a potent scorer for a powerful Hurricane squad this spring, tallying 108 goals in 24 games and dishing out 82 assists. Will play lacrosse for Tufts University next spring.
