ROUNDUP: Chichester wraps up Del Val title

Chichester clinched the Del Val League title with a 22-0 rout of Academy Park Thursday.

Josh Hankins (homer, five RBIs), Owen Valentine (two triples) and Anthony Caramanico (two doubles) all had three hits for Chi. Aaron Jackson earned his first varsity win.

Interboro 20, Chester 4 >> Josh Boylan (four RBIs) and Eddie Boyer (three RBIs) each delivered three base knocks for the Bucs. Gabe Reifer was the winning pitcher.

In the Central League:

Garnet Valley 9, Ridley 2 >> The host Jaguars plated three runs in the first, third and fifth innings. Matt Marowski went 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBIs.

Ryan Wooten, who went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, went the distance on the mound, allowing two runs (none earned) on five hits with seven punchouts. CJ Wood was 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot.

Mike Happersett finished 3-for-3 with a double for the Green Raiders.

Elsewhere in the Central League:

Radnor 10, Springfield 9 >> Radnor struck for five first-inning runs on the road and held on for the win. Austin Marx went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Will Reger and Danny Rosenblum each had three hits.

Owen Lewandowski pitched 5.2 innings to get the win.

The Cougars almost came all the way back from a 10-2 deficit, but fell a run short. Jake Carlin finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and Mike Grapin added a hit and four RBIs in the defeat.

Marple Newtown 6, Radnor 1 >> MN starter Tommy Lucchesi lasted 5.1 innings, allowing just the one run on two hits with six Ks. Jimmy O’Brien (two RBIs) and Justin Brennan (one RBI) both finished with two hits, while Brian Joslin went 1-for-3 with two ribbies.

Haverford 5, Lower Merion 1 >> Ryan Redmond tossed a complete game five-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Fords downed the Aces. Will Higson tripled and drove in two runs and Jimmy Wright drove in two runs with a double.

In the Bicentennial League:

Delco Christian 13, Calvary Christian 4 >> Connor Crowe stroked a pair of doubles and also singled to lead the Knights. Robert Lucas and Stephen Wisnewski each scored three runs.

Winning pitcher Jeremiah Chow, Lucas and Jordan Mitchell combined for nine strikeouts on the mound

In nonleague action:

Christian Academy 17, Renaissance Academy 0 >> Lars Specht hurled a four-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts and was 3-for-3 with three runs scored.

Brody Dutton finished 4-for-4 with a double and Peter Cavacini had three hits, three runs scored and four RBIs. Evan Sareyka (home run), Ben Reilly (three RBIs) and Colton Haseline all contributed two hits.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Rustin 14, Sun Valley 5 >> Colin Porter went 2-for-2 with a double, but the Vanguards let up five runs in the top of the first and never recovered.
