Mercury Boys Tennis Roundup (April 14): PJP, Upper Perk, Pottsgrove pick up PAC wins

Pope John Paul II 7, Norristown 0 >> The Golden Panthers won the only contested slot in Wednesday’s PAC match with the Eagles.

PJP’s Andrew Granito defeated Norristown’s Jose Ortiz Flores, 6-4, 6-2, in third singles.

Upper Perkiomen 7, Pottstown 0 >> The Indians swept the six played matches for PAC win Wednesday against the Trojans.

Nick Pence, Srikar Kanthala and Evan Ratushny won in singles for UP. Pottstown’s Kishan Patel took Pence to three sets (6-3, 1-6, 6-4) in first singles.

The Indians’ doubles teams of Kyle Schmoyer/Dakota Williams, Brayden Sanfelice/Enoc Padilla and Ethan Zonis/Ryan Cleary also won matches.

Pottsgrove 5, Boyertown 2 >> A sweep of the singles bracket made the difference for the Falcons in Wednesday’s PAC match against the Bears.

Luke Kaiser had Pottsgrove’s best individual showing, a 6-1, 6-2 win at third singles. Boyertown’s Declan Tobor/Adam Hofstaedter duo went 6-2, 6-2 at fourth doubles to lead their lineup.

Exeter 3, Daniel Boone 2 >> The Blazers won matches in the singles and doubles brackets during Wednesday’s Berks League contest with the Eagles.

Sam Shank was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at third singles, as was Boone’s first-doubles team of Owen Blume and Jared Miller.
