Mercury Boys Tennis Roundup (April 13): Spring-Ford, OJR pick up PAC wins

Spring-Ford 6, Upper Merion 1 >> The Rams took all four doubles matches in Tuesday’s win over the Vikings.

Spring-Ford’s doubles teams of Josh Pergine/Navein Suresh, Dan Thrope/Ethan Shakour, Jacob Collier/Yash Rohera and Jacob Kolevas/Jupjowt Singh picked up doubles wins. Cameron Moore and Ryan Miller won at first and second singles respectively.

Somil Tare picked up the Vikings’ lone point, earning a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win over Colton Pollock in third singles.

Owen J. Roberts 7, Boyertown 0 >> The Wildcats had just one match go past two sets in Tuesday’s win over the Bears.

Jason Sawicki, Talan Nguyen and Blake Brennan picked up singles wins for OJR. The teams of Will Cano/Liam Sanders, Ethan Ladd/Jack Sawicki, Ryan Pryor/Matthew Taylor and Parry Ryan/Colin Hanna won doubles matches for the Wildcats.

Perkiomen Valley 6, Owen J. Roberts 1 >> A sweep of the doubles bracket put the perfect cap on the Vikings’ performance in Monday’s PAC match with the Wildcats.

In a duel between semifinalists from the weekend’s PAC Singles Tournament, PV’s Aaron Fry rebounded from an opening-set 7-5 loss to overtake OJR’s Jason Sawicki, 6-1, 6-0. Roberts extended three of the four doubles contests to three sets.

Daniel Boone 3, Fleetwood 2 >> A sweep of the singles bracket proved enough to give the Blazers victory over the Tiger in Monday’s Berks League action.

Sam Shank had Boone’s best showing, a 6-0, 6-1 verdict at third singles. David Kim was a winner at first singles in three sets, and Evan Miller had the other point at second singles in a tiebreaker.

Perkiomen School 4, Westtown School 1 >> The Panthers swept their singles matches Tuesday agains the Moose

William Woolley, Fred Knof and Joey Kelly picked up singles wins, while the team of Arun Chinnakaruppan and Brandon Legris won at first doubles for Perk.
