ROUNDUP: Upper Darby records second straight win

Upper Darby’s girls lacrosse program is trending in the right direction.

The Royals (3-1) matched their 2019 win total with Monday’s 12-9 nonleague victory over Sun Valley on senior night.

UD’s senior class had a productive game. Erin Colsher scored three goals, Olivia Pierucci recorded two goals and two assists, Sarah Hunter added one goal, and Emma Scouten pitched in with two assists.

“The girls are working incredibly hard and putting in so much work, it is paying off,” coach Stephani Church said. “I am looking forward to seeing how much they continue to improve and grow.”

Carli Komorowski had a nice game for the Vanguards with five goals and one assist. Riley Basht (two assists), Tali Carotenuto, Alena Catka and Carmen Morrone all scored a goal.

In other nonleague action:

Springfield 12, Oxford 5 >> Carley Eskridge and Mia Valerio powered the Cougars attack with three goals apiece. Devin Buggy had a pair of tallies and Erin DeStefano produced a goal and two helpers.

Rachel Conran made nine saves in net for the Cougars, who outscored the Hornets, 7-1, in the second half.

In the Catholic League:

Archbishop Carroll 20, Conwell-Egan 0 >> The Patriots received goal scoring from 20 players. They were: Julia Basciano, Kate McConaghy, Shannon Wood, Lydia Malone, Keri Barnett, Brooke Wilson, Makayla Henry, Emma Talego, Karli Dougherty, Mary Matey, Ella Wright, Katie Karoly, Kiley Mottice, Chloe Bleckley, Brooke Hippert, Nicole Pawelec, Payton Nord, Jayanna Ramsey-Williams, Sienna Golden and Sarah Durham.
