Boyertown has 9 announce college destinations

Nine Boyertown student-athletes recently announced their college decisions. Making their athletic college commitments were: Rachel Hartman (softball, Ursinus College), Rachanee Tith (track/cross country, Bloomsburg University), Morgan Sauers (softball, York College), Logan Black (softball, Robert Morris University), Gianna DiRuggieri (softball, Rosemont College), Fiona Hovey (soccer, Drew University), Brendan Smith (lacrosse, Hood College), Trey Yesavage (baseball, East Carolina University) and Sylvana DiRuggieri (softball, Rosemont College).

Rachel Hartman, Softball, Ursinus College

Boyertown softball player Rachel Hartman will continue her academic and athletic careers at Ursinus College, where she will major in neuroscience/psychology. Hartman, a member of Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society and a High Honor Roll Student, is pictured with her parents Denise and Troy Hartman and coach Kim Musselman.

Rachanee Tith, Track/Cross Country, Bloomsburg Univ.

Boyertown track and cross country runner Rachanee Tith will continue her academic and athletic careers at Bloomsburg University. Tith, an Honor Roll Member of the National Technical Honor Roll Society and Vice President of Health Occupations Students of America, is pictured with her parents Nara and Sereyrort Tith.

Morgan Sauers, Softball, York College

Boyertown softball player Morgan Sauers will continue her academic and athletic careers at York College, where she will major in nursing. Sauers, a member of Key Club, Link Crew, National Honor Society and Girl Scouts, is pictured with her parents Amy and Ben Sauers.

Logan Black, Softball, Robert Morris Univ.

Boyertown softball player Logan Black will continue her academic and athletic careers at Robert Morris University, where she will major in marketing. Black, a member of National Honor Society and involved with the United Way of Boyertown, was an All-PAC selection as a freshman and sophomore. She is pictured with her parents Brenda and Chris Black, volleyball coach Mike Ludwig and softball coach Kim Musselman.

Gianna DiRuggieri, Softball, Rosemont College

Boyertown softball player Gianna DiRuggieri will continue her academic and athletic careers at Rosemont College. Gianna, the daughter of Teresa Zulla and Joseph DiRuggieri, is pictured with her mother and sister Sylvana and Boyertown coach Kim Musselman.

Fiona Hovey, Soccer, Drew Univ.

Boyertown soccer player Fiona Hovey will continue her academic and athletic careers at Drew University, where she will major in psychology. Hovey, President of Future Business Leaders of America, a member of National Honor Society and a member of Link Crew, is pictured with her parents Doug and Erin Hovey.

Brendan Smith, Lacrosse, Hood College

Boyertown lacrosse player Brendan Smith will continue his academic and athletic careers at Hood College, where he will major in biology. Smith, seated center, is pictured with parents Erik and Jennifer Smith and coach Grady Wise. “Brendan has an exceptional work ethic both on and off the field,” coach Grady Wise said. “His game has improved each year and he has developed into one of our most intelligent defensemen.”

Trey Yesavage, Baseball, East Carolina Univ.

Boyertown baseball player Trey Yesavage will continue his academic and athletic careers at East Carolina University, where he will major in business. Yesavage, who threw a no-hitter as a sophomore, is pictured with his parents Dave and Cheryl Yesavage.

Sylvana DiRuggieri, Softball, Rosemont College

Boyertown softball player Sylvana DiRuggieri will continue her academic and athletic careers at Rosemont College. DiRuggieri, the daughter of Teresa Zulla and Joseph Ruggieri, is pictured with her mother and sister Gianna, and Boyertown coach Kim Musselman.
