DLN BASKETBALL ROUNDUP (Jan. 26): Brickus hits clutch free throws as Coatesville edges W.C. East

Jaeden Brickus hit both ends of a one-and-one at the free throw line with 30 seconds left to give Coatesville a lead, and the Red Raiders held on for a 53-52 win over West Chester East in Ches-Mont League boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Jeremiah Marshall added 12 points and Duce Jackson chipped in with 10 in the Coatesville win.

West Chester East’s Jackson Kulp led all scorers with 21 points and Kieran Hefferan added nine.

Great Valley 63, Sun Valley 40 >> Bryce Broxton had 19 points, Will Fredrick had 13 and Max Dimedio added 12 in the Patriots’ runaway Ches-Mont win over the Vanguards. Chris Kwaidicah led Sun Valley with 19 points of his own.

West Chester Rustin 68, Unionville 45 >> Mikey Miller had 19 points and Griffin Barrouk had 16 rebounds in Rustin’s big win over the Longhorns.

Girls Basketball

West Chester East 54, Coatesville 45 >> Lauren Klieber led the Vikings with 17 points, while Megan Merten and Mikayla Kushner each scored nine. Olivia McDonald added eight for East. Danae Ellzy led Coatesville with 14 points.

Downingtown East 47, West Chester Henderson 36 >> The Cougars proved to be too much for the Warriors on Tuesday night in a Ches-Mont win. Molly Manion led Henderson with 18 points and nine rebounds. East’s leading scorers were not provided.
