Chester’s Clayton wins pair of medals at first indoors meet

Chester’s Jiya Clayton earned gold and bronze medals in the first Delaware Valley Girls Track Coaches Association meet of the season.

Clayton won the 400-meter dash in 1:02.23.20 and took third in the 55-meter hurdles (9.96 seconds) at Glen Mills. Teammate Kamani Johns was second in the 200 (27.20).

Ava Ezzie of Bonner-Prendergast was the other winner from Delco. She was first in the mile (6:05.04). Teammate Taylor Johnson took third in both the 55 dash (7.83) and 200 (28.26). Destiny Pierre-Mathieu of Bonner-Prendie was fourth in the 400 (1:06.38).

Nevaeh Davis took home two medals to lead Penn Wood. She was second in the 55 dash (7.77) and fifth in the 400 (1:06.87). Teammate Tynia Pratt-Davis placed fourth in the 55 hurdles (10.23).

Hayley Harper of Chichester took fourth in the long jump (15-3).
