Presenting fall 2020 All-Main Line cross country teams

Although the COVID-19 pandemic put the 2020 Main Line high school cross country season at risk of cancellation, the local squads were able to compete in a limited schedule this past fall.
The All-Main Line high school cross country teams are selected by the coaches. Because Main Line Media News covers 19 high schools, the Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of sports available to first team, second team and honorable mention – but follows the priority of the coaches’ selections.
What follows are the fall 2020 All-Main Line high school cross country teams:
FIRST TEAM – BOYS
Charlie Miller, Conestoga – A repeat All-Main Line first team selection, the senior finished first at the Central League championships, clocking 16:38.90 over the Rose Tree Park course.
Raymond Welgosh, Conestoga – Junior finished sixth at the Central League Championships, clocking 17:20.30 at the Rose Tree Park course.
Patrick Lawson, Haverford High – Fords’ MVP finished fourth at the Central League championships. Sophomore is noted for his leadership and ability to handle tough courses.
Ethan Fingerhut, Haverford High – Junior placed seventh at the Central League Championships, clocking 17:23.50 at the Rose Tree Park course.
TJ Gannon, Lower Merion – Senior captain finished second at the Central League championships just 0.6 seconds behind champion Charlie Miller of Conestoga. Led the Aces to an undefeated season and a first-place team finish at the Central League championships.
Alex Bullard, Lower Merion – Junior finished one spot behind teammate TJ Gannon at the Central League championships, placing third with a clocking of 17:00.30 at Rose Tree Park.
Simon Schmeider, Lower Merion – Junior helped the Aces finished first at the Central League championships team competition with his fifth-place individual finish, clocking 17:06.30 at Rose Tree Park.
SECOND TEAM – BOYS
Devon Prep – Keaton Rush, junior; Pat Rullo, freshman.
Episcopal Academy – Bradley French, senior; Connor Hanrahan, sophomore; freshman; Michael Woolery, freshman; Dawson French, freshman.
Harriton – Leo Perlstein, junior; Finn Glew, senior; Owen Short, junior.
Haverford High – Quentin Ryan, sophomore; Anthony Lawson, senior.
Haverford School – AJ Sanford, senior.
Lower Merion – David Litvin, junior; Robert D’Aquila, senior.
Malvern Prep – Collin Hess, senior.
Radnor – Chris Belz, senior.
HONORABLE MENTION – BOYS
Devon Prep – Max Mongiello, junior; JP Heil, junior; Pablo Alonso, junior.
Harriton – Joseph Chasillery, junior; Aaron Trader, senior.

FIRST TEAM – GIRLS
Maura Timoney, Haverford High – A repeat first team All-Main Line selection, the senior finished second at the Central League championships (19:55) and was the Fords MVP for the season.
Nicole Rodriguez, Haverford High – Senior placed fifth at the Central League Championships, clocking 21:04.90 at Rose Tree Park. Noted for her standout work ethic and rapid improvement.
Sarah Hurst, Lower Merion – A repeat first team All-Main Line selection, the senior captain finished in first place at the 2020 Central League Championships for the second year in a row, posting a clocking of 19:48.20, the winner by more than seven seconds.
Claudia Campisciano, Merion Mercy Academy – Junior finished second at the District 1 2A championship despite having a limited meet schedule of three races this past fall. Placed 28th at the PIAA 2A state meet.
Caroline Bell, Villa Maria Academy – Junior finished fifth at the AACA Championships, clocking 21:30.38 at the Tyler State Park course and earning first team All-AACA honors.
SECOND TEAM – GIRLS
Conestoga – Julia Harris, sophomore; Ella Warkentine, junior; Karis Blagden, junior.
Episcopal Academy – Jill McEntee, senior; Kathryn Lynn, junior.
Haverford High – Shannon Barycki, sophomore.
Lower Merion – Annika Naveen, junior.
Merion Mercy Academy – Marianne Cheeley, sophomore; Mollie O’Dwyer, sophomore.
Radnor – Naomi Gross, sophomore; Zoe Margolis, freshman.
Villa Maria Academy – Christina Traficanti, sophomore; Charlotte Fritz, junior; Mary Cate Doughty, sophomore.
HONORABLE MENTION – GIRLS
Agnes Irwin – Shreya Kalra, senior.

(Academy of Notre Dame and Archbishop Carroll did not submit an All-Main Line cross country nomination ballot.)
