Reporter Boys Basketball: Fisher, Pennridge roll past Haverford; Souderton falls in OT

Pennridge 69, Haverford 52 >> Trent Fisher was big for Pennridge Saturday, posting a game-high 27 points as the Rams raced out to a 21-point halftime lead and rolled to a nonleague victory.

Christian Guldin scored 12 points while Colin Post added 11 points for Pennridge (15-5, 8-2 SOL Continental), who led 19-10 after a quarter then outscored the Fords 21-9 over the next eight minutes to go into the break up 40-19. The Rams extended their advantage to 57-31 entering the fourth.

John Seidman paced Haverford with 13 points while Hunter Kraiza had 12 points.

Lower Merion 42, Souderton 37 (OT) >> Souderton erased a seven-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to force overtime but Lower Merion took the extra session 7-2 to win the nonleague matchup.

Brian Reiner scored 14 points to lead the Indians (12-9, 6-5 SOL Continental). Jason Price and Matt Uhrich both added eight points for Big Red, who lost its second straight.

Demetrius Lilley posted a game-high 17 points for Lower Merion while Phil Cook and James Simples each collected 10 points. The Aces led 20-14 at halftime and was up 28-21 after the third before Souderton outscored the hosts 14-7 in the fourth.

Upper Dublin 59, New Hope-Solebury 52 >> After the nonleague contest was tied 23-23 at halftime, Upper Dublin outscored New Hope-Solebury 19-7 in the third for a 42-30 lead then held off Kyle McLaughlin and the Lions, to snap a four-game losing streak.

Drew Stover paced the Cardinals (9-11, 3-9 SOL American) with 21 points. Amare Johnson and Jayson Williams each had 11 points – Johnson hitting three 3-pointers.

McLaughlin scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth for New Hope-Solebury (10-7, 7-4 BAL Independence), which lost its third straight. Mike Borys and Alex Walinski both had 11 points. 

Germantown Academy 39, Carver Engineering and Science 32 >> Casey Traina scored 15 of Germantown Academy’s 19 first half points and recorded a game-high 19 points as the Patriots rallied in the fourth to end a three-game losing streak.

Zach Anderson added nine points — seven coming in the fourth as GA outscored the Engineers 14-5 in the quarter after trailing 27-25 at the end of the third.

Aziz McDaniels led E&S with 11 points, hitting three 3-pointers in scoring 10 in the first half.

Dock Mennonite 83, MaST Charter 49 >> Darius Ellis finished with 20 point and was one of four Dock Mennonite players in double-figure scoring as the Pioneers cruised to their third win in a row.

Steve Martin posted 17 points, Devon Jainlett had 14 points while Dallas Wilder added 12 points for Dock (15-4, 12-1 BAL Presidents).

Jenkintown 72, Plumstead Christian 27 >> Jenkintown led 17-4 after a quarter, stretched the advantage to 34-11 at halftime and went on to end a three-game skid.

The Drakes (6-14, 6-8 BAL Constitution) had four players score in double figures with Will Krinvic recorded a team-high 15 points. Jadan Welch had 14 points while Clinton Jackmon and Sean Mizzoni each added 11 points.

Nick Phillips posted a game-high 17 points for the Plumstead Christian (2-17, 0-13 BAL Constitution).
