Reporter Boys Basketball Roundup: Diggins scores 1,000th point, Archbishop Wood tops Carroll

Archbishop Wood 80, Archbishop Carroll 61 >> Junior Rahsool Diggins scored his 1,000th career point and tied teammate Daeshon Shepherd for the game high with 19 points as Archbishop Wood built a 43-25 halftime lead and went on to claim the Philadelphia Catholic League victory Friday.

Marcus Randolph and Jaylen Stinson both scored 18 points for the Vikings (15-4, 10-1 league), who won their second straight. Wood led 21-15 at the start of the second quarter then outscored Archbishop Carroll to go into the break up 18.

Tairi Ketner’s 17 points paced the Patriots (12-7, 6-5), who lost their second straight. John Camden added 16 points while Dean Coleman-Newsome and Anquan Hill each finished with 11 points.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 69, Upper Dublin 57 >> Luke DiCianno scored 10 of his game-high 24 points in the third as Plymouth Whitemarsh pulled away in the quarter to halt a two-game skid.

Zende Hubbard had nine of his points after halftime for the Colonials (9-11, 7-5 SOL American), who led 34-25 at the break then outscored Upper Dublin 21-9 in the third to go up 55-34. Zuri Jerman added 10 points for PW.

Drew Stover collected 12 of his team-high 20 points in the fourth for the Cardinals (8-11, 3-9 SOL American), who lost their fourth straight. UD’s Bazel Brady finished with 10 points.

Penn Charter 60, Germantown Academy 58 >> Jake Hsu led Germantown Academy with 17 points as the Patriots’ fourth-quarter rally came up short in the Inter-Ac contest.

Zach Anderson scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half while Casey Traina added 10 points for the Patriots (12-10, 4-4 league), who trailed 48-39 after three quarters.

Ryan Holmes had a game-high 18 points, 11 coming in the first half, as Penn Charter (8-14, 1-7) won its second straight. Mark Butler posted 14 points for the Quakers.

Central Bucks East 58, Quakertown 37 >> Jason Markowitz knocked down four 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 13 points as Central Bucks East rolled to an SOL Continental win.

Jack Hamilton had 11 points while Chris Charlton chipped in 10 points for the Panthers (13-8. 7-4), who led 32-17 at halftime then pulled away by taking the third 22-10.

Matt Catalano hit a trio of 3-pointers in posting a team-high nine points for Quakertown (2-18, 0-10).

Phil-Mont Christian 53, Jenkintown 45 >> David Olinger led all scorers with 23 points as Phil-Mont Christian picked up its fifth consecutive victory.

Trevor Tipton connected on four 3-pointers in tallying 19 points for the Falcons (12-6, 9-4 BAL Constitution), who led 23-17 at halftime.

Jadan Welch scored 19 points to pace Jenkintown (5-14, 5-8 BAL Constitution), which dropped its third straight.
